To set up the XVX MU68 FujiWave Walnut, choose USB-C, Bluetooth, or 2.4 GHz; for either wireless option, first turn on the small power switch beneath the Caps Lock keycap. If a cable does not restore wired mode after wireless use, press Fn+T. For VIA customization, connect the keyboard and load the MU68 model’s JSON configuration before changing keys, layers, macros, or lighting.

XVX calls the keyboard the MU68 FujiWave; Walnut is a theme or variant shown on the product page. It is a 68-key ANSI US 65% keyboard with a walnut case, MOA-profile PBT dye-sublimated keycaps, and pre-lubed XVX Coral Sea linear switches. The manufacturer lists hot-swap support, south-facing backlight LEDs, tray mounting, and a 4000 mAh battery. These are product specifications, not independent test results. Choose a connection mode
The MU68 supports USB-C wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz wireless connections. Wired USB-C avoids relying on the battery; the two wireless modes require the keyboard’s wireless power switch to be on. XVX lists a 4000 mAh battery but does not provide a runtime figure in the cited specification.

- Bluetooth: Turn on the keyboard’s wireless power switch, then pair it with the device using the device’s Bluetooth settings.

Turn on wireless beneath Caps Lock
- Use the included puller to remove the Caps Lock keycap.
- Locate the power toggle beneath the keycap and switch it on.
- Replace the keycap, then connect by Bluetooth or the 2.4 GHz dongle.
This concealed toggle is easy to miss. If a wireless connection is unavailable, check that the switch is on before troubleshooting pairing.
Restore wired mode after wireless use
If the board was previously used wirelessly, plugging in USB-C may not switch it to wired mode automatically. XVX’s FAQ instruction is: “Please press FN+T to switch to wired mode.” Press Fn+T after connecting the cable.

Set up VIA before changing keys
VIA customization requires the keyboard to be connected and the corresponding JSON configuration for the MU68 loaded. XVX says the board supports VIA web-based configuration and provides a downloadable configuration file through its product/download materials. Do not assume VIA has identified the board correctly until its model file is loaded.

- Connect the keyboard to the computer.
- Open VIA and load the XVX MU68 configuration JSON. XVX’s FAQ states that loading the model-specific JSON is required in addition to connecting the keyboard.
- Use VIA to configure key mappings, layers, macros, or lighting.
- Make one small change first, such as remapping a single key. Check the result and review each layer before building out more complex changes.
XVX lists Windows, macOS, and Linux support, and its FAQ explicitly addresses Mac and Windows compatibility. Available setup steps may vary with the VIA version and operating system.

Customize switches and keycaps carefully
Swap switches
The MU68 is hot-swappable and the box includes a puller and extra stock switches. XVX identifies the installed switches as Coral Sea linear switches. Hot-swap support alone does not confirm that every third-party switch will fit or function correctly; check pin and switch-type compatibility with XVX or the seller before buying replacements. The product page lists the Coral Sea switch at 45 ± 5 gf operating force, 2.00 ± 0.4 mm pre-travel, and 3.40 ± 0.4 mm total travel. These are manufacturer specifications.
Replace keycaps
The supplied keycaps are MOA-profile PBT with dye-sublimated printing. For an aftermarket set, confirm that it covers a 68-key ANSI layout and includes the specific bottom-row and individual key sizes the MU68 uses; the layout name by itself does not guarantee a full fit.

XVX lists south-facing LEDs and says VIA can adjust lighting. The product information does not establish that legends on third-party keycaps will shine through, so check the replacement set’s construction if illuminated legends matter.
Compatibility and model distinction
The MU68 product specifications list Windows, macOS, and Linux. XVX’s compatibility FAQ specifically confirms Mac and Windows. This guide concerns the wireless-capable MU68 FujiWave; it is not the separate XVX M68 wired model.
