To set up the Nothing Headphone (1) Pro, power it on, pair it with your phone, then use the Bluetooth settings on a Nothing phone running Nothing OS 1.5.6 or later—or the Nothing X app on other supported Android and iOS devices—to customize its controls. The roller manages volume and playback, the paddle handles tracks and calls, and the button can be assigned to actions such as launching your voice assistant.
Pair Headphone (1) Pro with your phone
- Power on the headphones. Move the on/off switch down. Up is off; down is on, according to Nothing’s product page.
- Start pairing. Hold the Bluetooth pairing button on the inner side of the right earcup for three seconds. Wait for the indicator to blink slowly. Nothing’s product control table describes the white LED flashing as the pairing signal; see the model-specific pairing instructions.
- Choose the headphones in your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Once connected, use your phone’s supported control settings or Nothing X to adjust gestures.
Choose where to customize the controls
The settings path depends on your phone. Nothing says Headphone (1) Pro controls can be configured in the Bluetooth interface on Nothing OS 1.5.6 and later. On other supported devices, use Nothing X; Nothing lists Android 8.0 or later and iOS 13 or later as requirements. Update Nothing X to access current features.

Assign the button
The button launches the voice assistant by default. In Nothing X, open Controls > Button and assign an action to either a single press or a press-and-hold. Nothing lists possible assignments including voice assistant, noise control, microphone mute, camera shutter, and no action. The choices shown can differ by platform, so use the options available on your own device rather than expecting every action to appear.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What Flat EQ changes
The physical Flat EQ switch activates a neutral listening mode. Nothing describes it as providing “a clean, neutral sound for reviewing tracks, comparing mixes or making critical listening decisions.” While Flat EQ is active, Transparency Mode, Spatial Audio, and EQ settings are disabled, according to Nothing’s support information. That means Flat EQ is not just an EQ preset: it changes which listening features are available.
