The right choice depends on what you value most: Nothing Headphone (1) Pro foregrounds tactile controls, Dynamic Spatial Audio and app customization, while Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) documents USB-C lossless audio and setting-specific battery estimates. The available specifications do not establish a controlled performance winner for noise cancellation, sound or comfort, so compare the features that matter to you and check current local prices before buying.

Which Bose model does this comparison mean?

“Bose QuietComfort Ultra” can refer to more than one generation. The current model relevant to this comparison is Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen). Bose’s comparison and support information lists this generation as sold from September 2025 onward. Make sure a listing names “2nd Gen” before comparing specifications or placing an order.

At a glance: how the documented features differ

Feature Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)
Noise cancellation Adaptive ANC rated up to 46 dB in 2026 coverage; this is a reported claim, not a head-to-head result. (Creative Bloq) No directly comparable ANC rating is established in the cited official materials.
Spatial audio Dynamic Spatial Audio, listed by Nothing. (Nothing) Bose Immersive Audio is an option with its own battery impact; it is not established as equivalent to Nothing’s mode. (Bose)
Battery estimates A directly comparable estimate with matching test conditions and mode is not stated in the cited sources. Bose estimates up to 30 hours with ANC on and Immersive Audio off, 23 hours with both ANC and Immersive Audio on, or 45 hours with ANC off. (Bose; Bose manual)
Bluetooth and multipoint Bluetooth 6.1 and multipoint are listed by Nothing. (Nothing) Bluetooth Core 5.4; Bose says the headphones can connect to two source devices simultaneously. (Bose)
USB-C audio Wired-audio format and compatibility details are not established in the cited sources. Bose documents USB-C lossless audio. Verify device compatibility and the current regional specifications before relying on a particular setup. (Bose)
Price A September 29, 2026 report cited a launch price of $399 / £349; this is launch/RRP coverage, not a verified current street price. (TechRadar) Current price not established in the cited sources.

Which is better for noise cancelling?

Nothing’s adaptive ANC is reported as rated up to 46 dB, but that number alone does not show how it performs against Bose in the same conditions. The available sources do not establish a matched test of these exact headphone generations, so they cannot support a reliable ANC winner.

#1 Best Overall
Bose QuietComfort Ultra Bluetooth Headphones (2nd Gen), Wireless Headphones with Spatial Audio, Over Ear Noise Cancelling with Mic, Up to 30 Hours of Play time, Black
  • BREAKTHROUGH SPATIALIZED AUDIO: Super immersive sound spatializes everything, taking the music out of your head and placing it in front of you to push the boundaries of listening.
  • NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES: Enjoy Bose’s best noise cancellation for headphones with Quiet Mode, turn on Aware Mode to hear more of your surroundings, or combine noise cancellation and Bose Immersive Audio with Immersion Mode.
  • NEW CINEMA MODE: Bring video content to life like never before with Cinema Mode; spatialize and balance background sound and sound effects for movie-like immersion wherever you go.
  • USB VOICE: Use the built-in mic to enjoy high-quality two-way communication for phone calls and video conferencing while connected via USB-C.
  • ENHANCED LONG-LASTING BATTERY: Up to 30 hours of play time (23 with Immersive Audio)* keeps the music playing through even the longest listening sessions. Charge your headphones with the included USB-C cord and listen to music at the same time.

If blocking noise is your main reason to buy, look for direct comparisons that test both models under the same conditions, and try them in the kinds of places where you will use them if possible. A rating from one product’s materials should not be treated as a prediction of which will sound quieter on a commute or flight.

Sound, spatial audio and controls

Nothing: a feature-led control and customization approach

Nothing highlights Dynamic Spatial Audio, tactile controls and customization through the Nothing X app. Those features may appeal if you want hands-on controls and options to adjust the listening experience. Their presence does not establish how the headphones sound to you, or whether their spatial processing is preferable.

Bose: Immersive Audio as a selectable mode

Bose documents Immersive Audio as a listening option on QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen). Bose’s quoted battery estimate is “up to 30 hours (23 with Immersive Audio on, 45 with ANC turned off) of play time.” The settings attached to each runtime matter: the figures are manufacturer estimates, not a direct comparison with Nothing.

Battery life: compare like with like

Bose gives three estimates for its second-generation headphones: up to 30 hours with noise cancellation on and Immersive Audio off; 23 hours with both noise cancellation and Immersive Audio on; and 45 hours with noise cancellation off. Bose’s manual says tests used production-representative second-generation headphones under specified playback conditions and cautions that actual life varies with settings and use. These figures are not a fair runtime comparison with Nothing unless a Nothing estimate is available for a matching mode and test condition.

Connectivity and wired listening

Nothing lists Bluetooth 6.1 and multipoint. Bose specifies Bluetooth Core 5.4 and says two source devices can be connected simultaneously. A higher Bluetooth version number by itself does not establish better sound or a more reliable connection for every phone or computer.

Bose documents USB-C lossless audio. The cited Nothing materials do not establish a directly comparable wired-audio format. Before buying for a specific wired or wireless setup, check the current regional specifications for codec, audio format and compatibility with your devices.

Comfort, travel and fit

The available sources do not provide a matched wear test of these exact models. Comfort is fit-sensitive: head shape, clamping force, glasses and how long you wear headphones can all affect the experience. If fit is a deciding factor, try them on where practical or buy from a seller with a return policy you can use.

For travel, consider your own priorities together: noise cancellation, the listening mode you expect to use, connection needs and the battery estimate that applies to that mode. Bose’s runtime changes substantially depending on whether ANC and Immersive Audio are active; the cited sources do not provide a matching Nothing runtime for a direct comparison.

Which headphones fit your needs?

  • Consider Nothing Headphone (1) Pro if tactile controls, Nothing X customization, Dynamic Spatial Audio or Bluetooth 6.1 are high on your list—and verify the exact configuration and current price in your market.
  • Consider Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) if USB-C lossless audio, Bluetooth multipoint and Bose’s documented, setting-specific playback estimates match your needs.
  • Prioritize a personal comparison if your decision hinges on ANC performance, sound preference or comfort. The cited evidence does not establish a controlled winner in those areas.
  • Check live local pricing before deciding on value. Nothing’s reported launch price is not proof of today’s selling price, and no current Bose price is established here.
