Can cross-platform Among Us players talk together?
Yes. Innersloth describes cross-platform play for the original Among Us and recommends playing online with friends using voice chat. That recommendation does not mean the original game includes a native voice-call feature: the official game page lists in-game text chat, but does not specify built-in voice chat. For live speech, your group needs a separate call that works on each player’s device. The official materials reviewed do not name or certify a particular non-Discord calling service for every platform combination, so choose one your group already has access to and confirm everyone can join it.

Set up a voice call alongside the game
- Confirm the game: Make sure everyone is launching the original Among Us, not Among Us 3D. The two titles are incompatible.
- Start the game lobby: Create or join a private lobby as usual, then have everyone join the same separate group voice call.
- Test the audio: Before the match, check that each player can use their microphone and hear the call. Adjust speaker or headset levels so the game’s sounds are still audible and the call does not mask game cues.
- Choose how to manage microphones: Agree on how players will mute or unmute, especially when several people are speaking. These are practical setup checks, not features certified by Innersloth.
Use in-game text chat if needed
If a player cannot or does not want to use a voice call, the original game has text chat. Logged-in players who are eligible can check Settings > Data > Chat Type to choose between Free Chat or Quick Chat and Quick Chat only. Free Chat may not be available to every account; child accounts need parental permission. See Innersloth’s FAQ for the account and chat-setting conditions.

Do not confuse Among Us 3D with the original game
Among Us 3D is a separate title with proximity voice chat and PC/VR crossplay. Those features do not add voice chat to the original Among Us, and players of the two games cannot play together. Details are on Innersloth’s Among Us 3D page.

What to check when choosing a non-Discord call
- Every player can access the service from their device.
- Everyone can join the same group call at the same time.
- Players can easily mute and manage microphones during a match.
- Call audio and game audio can both be heard clearly.
A headset with a microphone can be useful for a separate voice call, but it is optional and does not add native voice chat to the original game. Innersloth recommends voice chat generally; it does not endorse a particular headset model. The official game page does not name a specific calling service or accessory.
