How to Set Up a Roku Pro Series OLED TV and Connect Streaming Devices

Set up a Roku Pro Series OLED TV with Guided Setup, Wi-Fi and account activation, then connect streaming players, consoles, cable boxes, antennas, and sound systems.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To set up a Roku Pro Series OLED TV, connect it to power and Wi-Fi, complete Roku’s Guided Setup and account activation, then connect external players or other devices to HDMI and select the matching input. Roku’s 2026 Pro Series OLED models are the 55RADX and 65RADX; check the guide for your exact model before assembling or mounting it.

Before you start

  • Have the TV, remote, power outlet, Wi-Fi network name and password ready.
  • Gather any optional streaming player, game console, disc player, cable or satellite receiver, antenna, or sound system you plan to connect.
  • Find the Quick Start Guide for your exact TV model. Roku provides model-specific product information and guides; use them for stand assembly, mounting, and the location of ports rather than relying on instructions for another Roku TV family. See Roku’s Roku-branded TV product information.

Complete the TV’s initial setup

  1. Assemble or mount the TV. Follow the model-specific Quick Start Guide to attach the included stands or mount the set. Connect the power cable and turn the TV on with the remote.
  2. Follow Guided Setup. Choose your country and indicate that the TV is for home use, then select your home Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
  3. Let Roku OS update. The TV may download software and restart as part of setup. Allow that process to finish before continuing.
  4. Sign in to or create a Roku account. Account activation links the TV to the account for access to the channel store, subscription purchases, and personalization.
  5. Add any devices you have ready. When prompted, connect each source, turn it on, and follow the onscreen directions to choose a suggested input name or a custom name and icon.

Internet access is required to complete setup. Roku Support states: “All Roku branded TVs require an internet connection to complete set up.” See Roku Support’s overview of Roku TVs and setup guide.

Connect a streaming player or other HDMI device

The 2026 Roku Pro Series OLED models, 55RADX and 65RADX, have four HDMI ports; Roku identifies HDMI 1 as eARC. Confirm the labels on your own TV because port details can vary by model. Roku lists 4K OLED resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos for the Pro Series. See Roku’s Pro Series product page.

  1. Connect the player, console, disc player, or receiver to an available HDMI port on the TV.
  2. Connect the device to power and turn it on. If you are using an external Roku player, Roku recommends using the cable supplied with it.
  3. On the TV, choose the corresponding HDMI input. During initial setup, follow the prompts to detect and name the connected device. You can add or change devices later at Settings > Remotes & Devices > Add Devices.
  4. If the device supports 4K or HDR, check that the player, cable, TV input, and any equipment in between support the format you intend to use. Follow the device and TV instructions for any additional HDMI settings.

If you need to replace the cable supplied with an external Roku player, Roku recommends a High Speed HDMI cable for a TV that supports only 720p or 1080p, and a Premium High Speed HDMI cable for a TV that supports 4K Ultra HD or HDR. That cable recommendation applies to an external streaming device, not to the TV’s built-in Roku apps. Roku explains HDMI and related setup topics, including ARC, CEC, and HDCP, in its HDMI guide. For more detail on connecting a Roku player, see Roku’s streaming-player setup instructions.

Choose the right connection for live TV, cable, and streaming

What you want to watch Connection What to do
Internet streaming apps Home Wi-Fi or another internet connection Complete Guided Setup and account activation, then open the app you want. Some services require a paid subscription.
Over-the-air broadcasts HD antenna to the TV’s antenna or Live TV input Connect the antenna, open Live TV, and run the channel scan. An antenna receives broadcasts; it does not provide streaming apps.
Cable or satellite service Provider receiver to an HDMI port Connect and power on the receiver, then select the HDMI input it uses. The receiver, not the antenna input, is the connection for a cable or satellite box.

Roku says the TV can be disconnected from the internet after initial setup and still play HDMI sources or antenna Live TV. Online streaming, however, requires network access.

Connect a soundbar or receiver

The Pro Series product information marks HDMI 1 as eARC and lists Dolby Atmos. If your soundbar or receiver supports eARC, connect it to the TV’s HDMI 1 eARC port and follow the setup instructions from both manufacturers. The right audio settings depend on the connected equipment; do not assume every soundbar or receiver uses the same configuration.

Manage inputs after setup

If a device was not connected during Guided Setup, connect and power it on, then go to Settings > Remotes & Devices > Add Devices to add or change it. Choose the input that corresponds to the TV port in use. If the device does not appear, confirm it is powered on and its HDMI cable is seated at both ends, then select that HDMI input directly.

Roku’s product page says the TV offers “500+ free live TV channels.” This is Roku’s own product claim, not an independently audited count, and it does not mean every channel or app is free; some streaming services require subscriptions.
