To set up a racing wheel for an arcade racing game, first confirm that your exact wheel variant supports your console or PC and the game. Then connect it as shown in the wheel’s guide, let startup calibration finish, check the steering and pedals in the game, and adjust settings gradually. Compatibility and controls vary by wheel, platform, and title, so there is no single setup or sensitivity value that works for every arcade racer.
1. Check that your wheel works with your platform and game
Start with the exact model and variant, not just the product family name. A wheel designed for Xbox may not work on PlayStation, and a game’s support can differ by platform. Check the manufacturer’s current compatibility list for both your wheel and the game before buying or troubleshooting.

For example, Logitech’s G923/G29/G920 game compatibility list is organized by platform and includes titles such as Forza Horizon 5 and GRID Legends. That list applies to those Logitech wheel families; it does not establish support for every brand or arcade racing game.
2. Mount and connect the wheel
Secure the wheel to a desk or stand that will not shift when you steer or press the pedals. Connect the pedals and power adapter to the wheel as shown in its own connection diagram, then connect the wheel’s USB cable to the console or computer. For a Logitech G923, follow the guide that matches your hardware: the cited quick-start guide covers the Xbox One/PC version, while Logitech also provides a PlayStation/PC version. Do not assume a diagram for another variant applies to yours.
#1 Best Overall
- Immersive Gaming Experience: Perfect for PlayStation 5, PS4 and PC gaming titles, the Driving Force simulates the feeling of driving a real car with precision steering and pressure-sensitive pedals
- Premium Control: The Driving Force feedback racing wheel provides a detailed simulation of driving a real car, with helical gearing delivering smooth, quiet steering and a hand-stitched leather cover
- Customizable Pedals: These pressure-sensitive nonlinear brake pedals provide a responsive, accurate braking feel on a sturdy base - with adjustable pedal faces for finer control
- 900-Degree Rotation: Lock-to-lock rotation of the Driving Force means you can turn the wheel around two and a half times, hand over hand on wide turns - just like a real F1 race car
- Up Your Game: Take your racing simulation to the next level with Driving Force accessories like the Driving Force Shifter or desk and rig mounts
Keep the wheel unobstructed while it starts. Many wheels rotate during startup calibration. Wait for that movement to finish and for the wheel to return to center before using it; Logitech says the G923 is ready once calibration is complete. See the Logitech G923 Xbox One/PC quick-start guide for its connection and calibration diagram.
3. Confirm the game recognizes the inputs
Open the game’s controller or input settings. If it offers a device selector, choose the wheel. Check that steering, accelerator, and brake register, then test any buttons you want to use. Menu names and options differ by game, so follow that title’s own help or support instructions rather than expecting one universal menu path.

- If the wheel is not listed, recheck the exact platform and game compatibility, the USB connection, and whether startup calibration has finished.
- If steering or a pedal does not register, check its connection and the game’s input assignment or calibration controls.
- If the hardware works in one game but not another, verify support for the second title rather than assuming all racing games recognize the same wheel.
4. Adjust steering response on PC when needed
On PC, Logitech says G923 steering sensitivity can be adjusted in Logitech G HUB and saved in a game-specific profile. This guidance is for the G923; it does not establish the same controls for other wheel models. See Logitech’s G923 sensitivity instructions.

If steering feels too quick, too slow, or difficult to control, change one setting by a small amount, drive briefly, and assess the result before changing anything else. There is no universal sensitivity number for arcade racers: handling depends on the game, its own controls, the wheel, and the player’s preference.

5. Tune feedback and other game-specific controls
Use the game’s documentation or official support for options such as steering rotation range, dead zones, force feedback, and button assignments. Change settings deliberately so you can tell which adjustment helped. A feature appearing in the wheel’s specifications does not guarantee that every game supports it: Logitech says TRUEFORCE depends on integration with supported games. Check support for the particular title on Logitech’s TRUEFORCE page and the game’s own support information.
