Choose the goal that matches the money or activity you want to track
“Donation goal” can mean different things in Streamlabs. For personal fundraising through your Streamlabs tip page, use Tip Goal. Streamlabs also offers a Charity Donation Goal for a published Streamlabs Charity campaign and a Tiltify Donation Goal. Other goal widgets track platform actions such as followers, subscriptions, Bits or YouTube Super Chats; those are not general tip totals.

Streamlabs’ official Tip Goal setup guide describes the widget as tracking donations received through a Streamlabs tip page against a goal of your choosing.
Set up a Streamlabs Tip Goal
1. Open the Tip Goal settings
- Log in to the Streamlabs Dashboard.
- In the sidebar, select All Widgets, then choose Tip Goal under Goals.
2. Enter the goal details and save
In Manage Goal, enter a title and target amount. If you have already raised part of the target and want that progress reflected, enter it as the Starting Amount. Set the deadline under End After, then save the goal.

Choose these values carefully before saving: Streamlabs’ guide says an existing goal’s amount, end date and current amount cannot be edited. If you need to change one, note the current total, end the goal and create a new one. To carry progress forward, use the amount already raised as the new goal’s starting amount.
3. Customize the display
Adjust the widget’s layout and appearance separately from its goal details. The available settings described by Streamlabs include standard or condensed layout, font, colors and bar size; custom HTML/CSS is optional. Check the live preview and select Save Settings.

4. Add the widget to your streaming software
- Streamlabs Desktop: In Sources, select the plus sign, choose Tip Goal under Widgets and add it. Resize and position the source. Add it to each scene where it should appear; reuse the existing source when appropriate.
- OBS Studio: Copy the widget URL from the Tip Goal settings page. In OBS, add a Browser source, paste the URL, set the dimensions you need, then position the source in the scene.
Keep the widget URL private. Do not display it on stream or expose it in screenshots or footage.

Use the charity-specific widget for a published Streamlabs Charity campaign, rather than the personal Tip Goal. Streamlabs says to build and publish the campaign first. Then add the Charity Donation Goal as a widget source in Streamlabs Desktop, or copy its widget URL and add it as a Browser source in OBS. If your fundraiser is through Tiltify, choose the Tiltify Donation Goal. For followers, subscriptions, Bits or Super Chats, select the corresponding goal widget instead. Streamlabs’ goal widget catalog lists these distinct options.
Troubleshoot a missing or incorrect goal
- The widget does not appear in OBS: Confirm the Browser source uses the Tip Goal URL copied from the goal’s settings, has suitable dimensions and is visible in the scene where you expect it.
- The widget is absent from one scene in Streamlabs Desktop: Add the widget source to that scene, or use the existing source if you are reusing it.
- The total or target needs changing: Existing goal settings cannot be edited. End the goal and create another with the corrected amount or date; enter the existing total as the starting amount if you want to preserve the displayed progress.
- Tips are not represented as expected: The Tip Goal is for tips received through your Streamlabs tip page. It is not a universal tracker for payments or donations from other services.
