G-Shock setting steps vary by module. Check the module number on the caseback and use that module’s Casio guide. How do I set the time and date on my G-Shock? First identify the module, then follow its controls rather than assuming every model uses the same button sequence.
Identify your module before changing settings
Casio uses different controls across G-Shock models: some use standard buttons, others use screen menus, a rotary switch or a crown. Find the module number printed on the watch’s caseback and open the matching Casio operation guide. The examples below apply only to the listed modules.

In general, enter Timekeeping Mode or the current-time screen, set the Home City or time zone and daylight-saving-time (DST) option where available, then adjust the date and clock fields and save. The exact controls and available time sources differ by model. A World Time city is not necessarily the Home City that governs the watch’s main display.

Manual adjustment is one option, but it is not the only one on every G-Shock. Depending on the model, the watch may support time-signal reception, phone adjustment or GPS adjustment. Use only the method documented for your module; Casio recommends time-signal adjustment for module 3553 when reception is available.

Where offered, DST choices may include automatic adjustment, always off (standard time) or always on (summer time). The labels and behavior depend on the watch. Set the correct Home City or time zone first, then choose the relevant DST option. If the displayed time is off by a whole hour, check the city/zone and DST setting before changing the minutes manually.

If the displayed time or date is still wrong
- Wrong hour, correct minutes: verify the Home City or time zone and DST setting.
- World Time looks wrong: check the selected time zone; on module 5413, Casio explicitly notes that a wrong zone makes World Time displays incorrect.
- Settings screen disappears: on module 3547, the watch exits setting after about two or three minutes of inactivity; re-enter the setting process.
- Buttons do not match these steps: stop rather than trying another module’s sequence. Confirm the caseback module number and consult its Casio guide.
- Your model supports automatic adjustment: use the documented signal, phone or GPS procedure if available instead of assuming manual controls are universal.
