On most Samsung ranges, tap Clock, enter the time, then tap Clock or START/SET to save it. The exact controls depend on your model: Smart Dial ranges use the Menu, while touchscreen date-and-time steps apply to certain built-in wall ovens, not automatically to every freestanding range.
Set the clock on a standard Samsung range
- Tap Clock or the clock icon. Avoid holding it unless your model’s instructions say to.
- If the display asks for AM or PM, tap Clock again to select one. Skip this if your model uses a 24-hour display or does not show an AM/PM choice.
- Enter the hours and minutes with the number pad or directional controls. For example, Samsung’s number-pad example for 1:30 is to press 1, 3, and 0.
- Tap Clock or START/SET to confirm and save.
- Check that the display shows the intended time.
Samsung describes this as the procedure for most models, not every range. On some models, holding the Clock control for three seconds opens Settings instead of starting clock entry. If you entered the wrong time, Samsung says to use Clear, if available, and begin again. Samsung Canada’s clock-setting instructions are intended for ranges sold in Canada; available settings can differ in other markets. Samsung’s US range guidance also recommends checking the manual for the specific model when the controls do not match.

Set the clock on a Samsung Smart Dial range
Samsung says the Smart Dial control panel enters Sleep mode after two minutes of inactivity and then displays only the time. Push or turn the dial to wake the controls before opening the time menu.

- Tap the three-line Menu icon.
- Turn the dial to select Set time.
- Enter the time, then push the dial to confirm.
To change the display format, open Menu > Time format, select 12hr or 24hr, then push the dial to save. See Samsung’s US range instructions for its Smart Dial guidance.

When touchscreen date-and-time instructions apply
Samsung’s touchscreen steps concern built-in wall ovens. Do not assume the same menus apply to a freestanding range just because it has a screen.
- Automatic date and time: Turn on Wi-Fi, open Settings > Date & Time, and enable the automatic option.
- Manual date and time: Open the same menu, turn the automatic option off, then set the time zone, date, and time.
Samsung notes that the touchscreen wall oven’s time display turns off after one hour of inactivity to limit screen energy use. Follow the instructions for the exact oven model in Samsung Canada’s clock guide.

If the clock will not set
- A menu opens instead: Tap Clock rather than holding it. On some models, a three-second hold opens Settings.
- The time entry is wrong: Use Clear if your control panel has it, then enter the time again.
- A Smart Dial panel shows only the time: Push or turn the dial to wake it, then look for Menu > Set time.
- The labels or steps do not match: Find the range’s model number and use its model-specific manual. Controls and available settings vary by model and market.
An accurate clock supports automatic functions where the range provides them. Samsung notes that it can help features such as delayed cooking or Sabbath mode work properly; those features are not present on every range. Samsung’s US instructions explain the connection.
