To limit online bingo spending, sign in and open the site’s “Safer Gambling,” “Responsible Gambling” or account-controls section. How to set a deposit limit on a bingo site
- Open your account controls. Sign in and look for “Safer Gambling,” “Responsible Gambling” or similar settings. If you cannot find the controls, contact the operator’s customer service. - Choose the right kind of limit. A deposit limit caps money paid into the account over a set period. A loss limit and a net-deposit limit are different controls, so check the wording rather than assuming they work the same way. - Set an amount and period you can manage. The required options include 24 hours, 7 days and 1 month. Decide whether the control applies to the whole account or only a particular product or channel, and check how any optional limits interact with it. (UK Gambling Commission, RTS 12)
- Review overlapping limits. The most restrictive applicable limit governs. For example, a £10 daily limit alongside a £100 weekly limit permits at most £10 in a day and £70 in a week. (UK Gambling Commission, RTS 12)
- Confirm when a change takes effect. A requested decrease should take effect immediately unless a technical failure prevents it. A requested increase has a cooling-off period of at least 24 hours, and you must positively confirm it after that period before it takes effect. The operator should tell you when the change will apply. (UK Gambling Commission, RTS 12)
How to take a break from online bingo
For a short pause, look for the operator’s “time-out” or break option in the same safer-gambling controls. Read the stated duration and what the pause blocks before confirming it. There is no single duration or interface established for every bingo operator, so check that site’s terms. A time-out is not the same as formal self-exclusion. How to self-exclude from a bingo site
Self-exclusion is a formal request to stop gambling with a business. You can request it from the operator; a single-operator exclusion covers that business, not automatically every gambling site or venue. Under Great Britain’s rules, once self-exclusion is agreed, the operator must close your account, return any remaining account funds and remove your details from marketing databases.
