To set a Bitcoin price alert around your entry price, choose the BTC market and quote currency you use, enter your chosen threshold, and select the direction that should trigger it. Then enable notifications and check the alert’s expiry. An alert is a reminder to review your plan—not an order to buy or sell.
Decide what you want the alert to tell you
Your entry price is a reference point, not automatically a support level, prediction, or trading signal. Decide whether you want to know when Bitcoin returns to that price, falls below it, rises above it, or approaches a separate threshold on either side.

For an exact entry-price reminder, enter that price. For an earlier or later prompt, choose your own nearby level and name it so its purpose is clear—for example, “BTC below entry review.” Kraken’s alert controls allow a price to be entered directly or adjusted by a percentage from the current market price, but the platform does not prescribe a universally appropriate buffer: Kraken Pro alerts.

Choose the matching Bitcoin market
Select the exchange market or chart symbol that matches the price you use to track your position. Check both the venue and quote currency: BTC/USD and BTC/USDT are different markets, and prices may differ between venues. The alert follows the selected market; it does not know your personal entry price unless you enter that value yourself.

Choose the direction and trigger behavior
- Either direction: Choose “reaches” or “crossing” if you want an alert when price approaches or passes the threshold from either side. Binance describes “Price reaches” as falling to or rising to a target; TradingView’s “Crossing” operator covers either direction. Binance; TradingView.
- Upward move only: Select “above” or “crossing up” if available. Coinbase offers above and below choices; TradingView distinguishes “Crossing up.” Coinbase; TradingView.
- Downward move only: Select “below” or “crossing down.” Check whether the setting triggers at the threshold or only after price passes it: TradingView provides crossing operators as well as “Greater than” and “Less than” conditions. TradingView.
Set the alert in your chosen service
Coinbase mobile
- Find and select the Bitcoin asset, then add it to your watchlist.
- Tap the bell-plus control and choose Add Alert.
- Choose Above or Below, enter the target price, and tap Save. Coinbase price alerts are for watchlisted assets. Coinbase’s instructions.
Binance
Binance documents an app flow in Binance Pro: open Markets, select the pair, tap Alert, choose the condition, enter the target and frequency, then create the alert. On desktop, its documented route is Alerts → Create Alert, where you select the pair, alert type, and frequency; a note field is optional. The help page was updated January 6, 2026 and warns it may be outdated, so confirm the current labels and regional availability in the app. Binance price-alert instructions.
Kraken Pro
Open Alerts, choose the market and trigger parameters, and enter a price or use the percentage adjustment controls. Active alerts can be reviewed, edited, or deleted. Kraken says Futures alerts cannot currently be created in its app, although a Futures alert created on the web may still deliver a mobile notification. Kraken Pro alerts.

TradingView
Set the primary condition to Price, choose the chart symbol, and select an operator such as Crossing, Crossing up, Crossing down, Greater than, or Less than. Give the alert a useful name and, if helpful, customize its message. TradingView price-alert setup.

Creating an alert and enabling its delivery are separate checks. Depending on the service, you may need to allow notifications in the app as well as in your phone, computer, or browser settings.

- Coinbase: Review custom-alert notification settings for push, in-app, and/or email delivery. Coinbase.
- Binance: Enable notifications for the mobile app in phone settings or for the desktop app in system preferences. Binance’s documented limits are 10 alerts per trading pair, 50 total alerts across pairs, and 90 days of validity per alert. These are platform limits stated by Binance in 2026 and may change. - Kraken: For mobile push, enable notifications both in the operating system and in the app. For web alerts, allow them in both the operating system and browser. Kraken Pro.
- TradingView: Choose the trigger frequency—once, every time, once per bar close, or once per minute—and set an expiry date. Open-ended expiry is unavailable for watchlist alerts, and alert quotas depend on the user’s plan. TradingView; TradingView alert settings.
After creating an alert, check that it appears in the active-alert list with the intended market, threshold, direction, delivery method, and expiry. Check it again after changing devices, apps, or account settings, and recreate it if it expires. Platform documentation explains setup and permissions but does not guarantee delivery timing or uninterrupted service.

A price alert sends a notification when its configured condition is met. It does not execute a trade or guarantee that you can transact at the threshold price. Coinbase puts it plainly: “They do not place an order for that asset.” Treat the notification as a prompt to review the market and your own plan, not as a substitute for an order or a decision about what to do.
