To choose what Microsoft Edge displays when it launches, open Settings and more > Settings > Start, home, and new tab page and select a startup behavior offered there. If by “startup page” you mean the page opened by the home button or the page shown in a new tab, those are separate settings.
Choose what Edge displays when it starts

Open Microsoft Edge and select Settings and more (the three-dot menu), then select Settings.

Use the startup behavior controls in that section to choose what Edge displays when the browser starts. Microsoft identifies this section as the place to select what you want Edge to display on startup: Make the switch to Microsoft Edge.

The available startup choices can vary by version or platform; Microsoft’s overview does not list every current option. Menu wording may also shift between Edge versions.

Set a custom page for the home button
If you want a chosen website to open when you click Edge’s home button, configure the separate home-page setting. Microsoft’s instructions apply to Windows 10 and Windows 11: Change your browser home page.

Go to Settings and more > Settings > Start, home, and new tab page.

Turn on Show home button.

Select Enter URL and enter the address of the page you want the home button to open.

This sets the destination for the home button; it does not, by itself, establish that Edge will open that URL when the browser launches.

Customize what appears in a new tab
To change the layout or content shown whenever you open a new tab, open a new tab and use its page settings. Microsoft describes new-tab customization separately from startup behavior and the home button in its Microsoft Edge overview.

Microsoft documents these as related but distinct controls. Its support material does not establish that setting a custom home-page URL automatically makes it the startup page, or confirm the exact startup options and multiple-URL behavior for every desktop platform.
