Choose Home screen only when you apply the wallpaper. Avoid the Lock screen and Home & Lock screen options; that changes the background without needing to open or edit the lock-screen clock settings.
Choose the wallpaper destination carefully
When ColorOS asks where to apply your image, select Home screen. Do not select Lock screen or Home & Lock screen. OPPO documents separate Home screen and Lock screen wallpaper destinations on recent versions, though labels and available choices can vary by phone and ColorOS release (OPPO support).

Set the wallpaper by ColorOS version
First check your version at Settings > About Phone or About Device. Menu names may differ slightly on your model. Follow the destination choice shown on your phone; do not apply the image if it offers only a combined destination and you need to keep the lock screen unchanged (OPPO support; OPPO version guidance).

- Open Settings > Home screen, Lock screen & style > Wallpapers.
- Choose your image and tap Apply.
- Select Home screen.
ColorOS 15
Use either route:
- Open Settings > Wallpapers & style > Wallpapers, choose the image and apply it to Home screen.
- Or open the image in Photos, tap the three-dot menu, choose Set as wallpaper, then select Home screen.
ColorOS 13–14
- Go to Settings > Wallpapers & style > Wallpapers.
- Choose a static or live wallpaper, or select a photo from an album.
- Apply the photo to Home screen only.
ColorOS 11–12
- Go to Settings > Personalizations > Wallpapers.
- Choose a local album or photo.
- Apply it to Home screen only.
ColorOS 6.1
The guide offers separate choices for Lock Screen Wallpaper, Home Screen Wallpaper, or both. Choose Home Screen Wallpaper only (ColorOS 6.1 user guide).

Leave the lock-screen clock controls alone
A Home screen-only wallpaper change does not require changing the lock-screen style or clock. Avoid opening or applying a theme for this task. In ColorOS 15, Flux Themes include controls for lock-screen wallpaper, style and clock, while allowing the Home screen wallpaper to match or differ from the Lock screen (OPPO Flux Themes guidance).
If your phone offers no Home screen-only option
Stop before applying the image if the only choice shown is combined Home & Lock screen. Check the phone’s version-specific wallpaper settings or OPPO support instructions first. OPPO’s general guidance covers Home-only application, but the exact path and options depend on the model and software version (OPPO support; OPPO version guidance).
