In Make, retrieve the Airtable records you want to process, map each record’s website URL into a screenshot service’s documented URL input, then optionally save the response to Airtable. Use a native screenshot-service module if it supports the capture you need; otherwise use Make’s HTTP “Make a request” module. The exact endpoint, authentication, request fields, and response handling depend on the screenshot provider.
What the workflow does
The basic flow is Airtable → screenshot action or HTTP request → Airtable. Make describes its HTTP app as a way to connect to API services and applications that do not have a Make integration. Its HTTP module supports methods including GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE, along with authentication, headers, and query parameters. Configure requests to match the selected screenshot API’s documentation rather than assuming a universal screenshot endpoint or payload. Make HTTP app documentation

Airtable’s URL field supplies the page address to capture. The provider’s response might contain an image, a URL, an identifier, or an asynchronous job result; inspect the provider documentation and the actual Make output before deciding what to write back. The available integration listings do not establish one generic response shape or guarantee that a final screenshot URL is returned synchronously.

Choose fields for the workflow
A practical table can include a website URL field, a processing-status field, and an output field for a returned screenshot link or identifier. These are implementation suggestions, not required Airtable field names. Keep the records distinguishable so that a later update writes the result to the intended record.

Set up Airtable access
Make supports connecting Airtable with a Personal Access Token. Make lists data.records:read, data.records:write, and schema.bases:read as commonly required scopes. Choose only the scopes needed for the scenario’s actual operations, and store the credential in Make’s connection rather than in an Airtable field or a mapped request payload. Pick how records enter the scenario
Make’s Airtable integration listing includes record-watching and search patterns. Choose based on when and how you want records processed: a trigger or scheduled watch for new records, or a search pattern for records matching a condition. The right choice depends on your table and desired timing.

Build the scenario
- Add an Airtable trigger or search module. Connect the base and table, then configure the record selection pattern you chose.
- Add the screenshot operation. Use a native Make action if it accepts the needed URL and capture options. Otherwise add HTTP’s “Make a request” module.
- Configure the request from the provider’s API reference. Enter its exact endpoint, HTTP method, authentication, headers, and query parameters or body. Make’s HTTP documentation recommends configuring authentication details in the dedicated credentials field instead of passing them through headers or query parameters. Follow the provider’s documented authentication method.
- Map the Airtable URL. In the screenshot request’s documented URL input, select the URL value emitted by the Airtable module. Do not guess a parameter name or move the URL into a different part of the request unless the provider’s API reference says to.
- Inspect the screenshot module’s output. Run a representative record and examine the execution bundle. Identify the actual returned data and whether the provider completes the capture in the same response or documents a job/status flow.
- Optionally write the result to Airtable. Add an Airtable create or update module and map only a field that the screenshot response actually returns. For an update, target the originating Airtable record. If the provider is asynchronous, follow its documented status, polling, or callback flow before marking the record complete.
- Test failure handling before broad use. Decide how to record errors and retries. Make’s HTTP module has an advanced option controlling whether 4xx/5xx responses cause the request to return an error; choose the behavior that fits your scenario’s error-handling path.

Make lists screenshot-related integrations, including GetScreenshot actions for element screenshots and API usage information, and an HTML to Image API action called “Capture Website Screenshot,” described as capturing a website or webpage from a URL. Those listings establish that the actions are available in Make’s catalog, not how they compare on service quality, pricing, reliability, or suitability for your particular capture. Or skip the browser setup
Instead of configuring a screenshot provider through Make, you can call ScreenshotNeo’s API from a Make HTTP request. Create an HTTP “Make a request” module with method GET and URL https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot. Add query parameters access_key (your API key) and url (map the Airtable website URL). The response is the screenshot output; consult the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request and response details.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
In Make, keep the access key in the HTTP module’s credential configuration where applicable; do not store it in a normal Airtable field. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie/consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers indicate the page verdict and billing status. It also provides an MCP server for AI agents, with tools including take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots. Learn about ScreenshotNeo.

Troubleshoot common workflow problems
- The request is rejected or returns an error: Check the provider’s documented HTTP method, endpoint, authentication, required headers, and parameter names. Confirm that the Airtable URL is mapped into the exact documented input.
- The URL field is empty in the request: Inspect the Airtable module’s output bundle and verify that the scenario is mapping the URL field from the intended record and table.
- The Airtable result field stays blank: Inspect the screenshot module’s real response bundle, then map a field that is actually present. The API may return a file or job identifier rather than a final image URL.
- The capture is still processing: Check whether the provider documents an asynchronous job/status flow. If it does, add the documented status-check or callback steps before updating the record as complete; do not assume a synchronous response.
- The scenario stops on an HTTP error: Review the HTTP module’s 4xx/5xx error behavior and make it consistent with the scenario’s error-handling and retry design.
- The wrong Airtable record gets updated: Map the record identifier from the source Airtable module into the update action, and test with a single known record before enabling broader processing.
Reliability, performance, and cost considerations
Capture time, service limits, pricing, output size, and retry behavior vary by screenshot provider; the Make integration listings cited here do not provide a comparable basis for ranking those factors. Check the selected provider’s current API documentation and plan details. For an asynchronous endpoint, account for its documented completion mechanism instead of treating the initial response as the finished screenshot. Before scaling a scenario, test representative URLs, review execution bundles, and define what happens to records that fail so errors are not mistaken for completed captures.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use any screenshot API with Make?
You can use HTTP “Make a request” for an API that accepts requests Make can configure, but the provider must document a compatible endpoint and request format.
