1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo send Steam Frame eye-openness data to Climbey, run Climbey through SteamVR streaming and use the new OSC support on both sides. Valve’s SteamVR Beta 2.18.2 exposes Steam Frame eye-openness information over OSC while streaming, and Climbey added OSC eye-openness support in an update the next day. Valve specifies SteamOS 0.4.3 or higher. The release notes establish this route, but do not document the exact settings or OSC address paths.
What the supported route is
The documented path is Steam Frame → SteamVR while streaming → OSC → Climbey. Valve’s October 1, 2026 SteamVR Beta 2.18.2 announcement says it exposes eye-openness information from Steam Frame via OSC when streaming. It specifies SteamOS 0.4.3 or higher; at the time of the announcement, that SteamOS version was on the OS Beta branch.

Climbey’s October 2, 2026 update says it adds “support for Eye-Openness via OSC.” Together, these release notes establish compatibility at the feature level, not a complete setup walkthrough.

- SteamOS: Steam Frame must be on SteamOS 0.4.3 or higher, according to Valve’s announcement.
- SteamVR: The cited openness-over-OSC feature is in SteamVR Beta 2.18.2. The announcement describes it as a beta release, not as a stable-channel requirement.
- Climbey: Use a version that includes the October 2, 2026 eye-openness-over-OSC update.
- Execution mode: The documented SteamVR OSC handoff applies while streaming. The cited notes do not confirm that the same handoff works when Climbey runs natively on Steam Frame.
How to approach setup without guessing at settings
- Update SteamOS and SteamVR. Confirm SteamOS is version 0.4.3 or higher and that SteamVR includes Beta 2.18.2’s streaming feature.
- Update Climbey. Confirm the installed update includes the October 2, 2026 OSC eye-openness support.
- Stream Steam Frame to the PC running Climbey. Valve’s note specifically describes openness exposure while streaming; it does not document a native-headset route.
- Check the current SteamVR and Climbey documentation or UI for OSC configuration. The cited announcements do not name a sharing toggle, OSC address, port, or Climbey-specific setup step. Do not assume a setting from an older Steam Link workflow is the right one.
If the feature is not working, first verify the required software versions and that you are testing in streamed mode. Then consult current product documentation for the OSC configuration details; the cited release notes alone are insufficient to specify them.

Why older Climbey guidance may seem to disagree
Climbey’s December 24, 2025 notes said multiplayer eye tracking required streaming through Steam Link and that Steam Frame did not then broadcast OSC data itself. That described the software state at that date. The October 2026 SteamVR and Climbey updates add the later OSC path, so the older limitation should not be treated as current guidance.
Valve’s 2024 Steam Link release notes discuss eye-gaze data passed through OpenXR when enabled in Steam Link settings, including a renamed sharing setting. Those notes describe an earlier eye-gaze passthrough workflow, not the newer Steam Frame openness-over-OSC feature; they do not establish the current toggle or wording for this setup.

OSC openness is distinct from OpenXR eye gaze
Valve’s Steamworks eye-tracking documentation states: “Our current support for eye tracking uses the XR_EXT_eye_gaze_interaction OpenXR extension.” That documents Valve’s OpenXR eye-tracking interface. The separate and newer source for Steam Frame eye-openness data over OSC while streaming is the SteamVR Beta 2.18.2 announcement.

Valve’s October 2026 note also says OpenVR SDK availability for eye openness is planned for a future release. That is a plan stated in the announcement, not confirmation that the SDK already exposes the feature.
