You can send files from Android to iPhone without AirDrop using Quick Share. On supported Android models, Quick Share can find an iPhone through AirDrop; the iPhone must temporarily allow discovery by setting AirDrop to Everyone for 10 minutes. If the Android model does not support that direct connection, Quick Share can create a QR code for an internet-based download instead.
Choose the transfer method that fits

Send directly with Quick Share on a supported Android phone
First check Google’s current compatible-device list for your exact Android model. Support and regional availability can change; the list includes select models from several manufacturers, and some entries may be marked as coming soon.

- Bring the Android phone and iPhone close together. Google says Bluetooth distance is required and Wi-Fi should be enabled.
- On the iPhone, open AirDrop settings and set receiving visibility to Everyone for 10 minutes. This temporary setting lets the Android phone find it.
- On Android, open the file, tap Share, choose Quick Share, and select the iPhone when it appears.
- On the iPhone, tap Accept on the AirDrop notification.
Google says this compatible-device path connects peer to peer, so the data is not routed through a server. That is Google’s description of the feature, not an independent security audit. See Google’s security announcement for its explanation.

What if Quick Share doesn’t show the iPhone?
- Confirm the exact Android model is on Google’s current support list; Quick Share interoperability is not available on every Android phone.
- Check that the iPhone is set to Everyone for 10 minutes, rather than a more restricted AirDrop visibility option.
- Bring the phones closer and make sure Wi-Fi is enabled, as Google specifies for the direct connection.
- If the Android model is unsupported or the direct option remains unavailable, use Quick Share’s QR-code route instead.
Use a Quick Share QR code as the fallback
- On Android, open Quick Share and select the files to send.
- Tap Use QR code to create a code.
- On the iPhone, scan the code with the camera and open the resulting link in a browser.
- Download the files from the Google page. Both phones need internet access.
This is not a direct local transfer: Google says the files are uploaded to its servers, protected with end-to-end encryption, and available to download for 24 hours. Google documents a limit of 10 GB per 24 hours and up to 1,000 files per session. Mobile data charges may apply if you are not using Wi-Fi. Check Google’s Quick Share instructions for current availability and limits.

Moving to a new iPhone? Use Move to iOS during setup
For a phone switch rather than a one-off file transfer, Apple’s Move to iOS process can move supported content—including contacts, messages, photos, videos, files, and folders—to a new iPhone or iPad during setup. Keep both devices nearby and plugged in, and leave the Move to iOS app onscreen on Android until the transfer finishes. Some content, including music, books, and PDFs, must be moved manually. Follow Apple’s current Move to iOS instructions, since requirements and available transfer paths vary by device and operating system. If iPhone setup is already complete, Apple says you must erase the iOS device to use that setup flow or move content manually.
