How to Send a Website Screenshot by Email with Make

Use Make’s combined screenshot-and-email action or build a scenario with separate capture and email modules. Confirm delivery format and test the message before relying on it.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Make offers a direct route: use GetScreenshot’s “Take Screenshot + Send it via Email” action to capture a webpage and deliver it by email. For more control, use a separate screenshot action followed by an email module, or combine HTML to Image API with Microsoft 365 Email (Outlook). The exact fields and delivery format depend on the module you select, so verify them in your Make scenario before relying on an attachment.

Choose a Make workflow

A Make scenario is a workflow built from modules. For this task, choose between a combined capture-and-email action, separate capture and email modules, or a screenshot integration paired with Outlook.

Route What Make lists Best fit
GetScreenshot combined action “Take Screenshot + Send it via Email”; an element version is also listed. A straightforward capture-and-deliver workflow.
GetScreenshot separate actions “Take Screenshot” or “Take Element Screenshot,” followed by an email action such as Gmail’s “Send an email.” A scenario that needs separate capture and email steps.
HTML to Image API and Outlook “Capture Website Screenshot” and Microsoft 365 Email actions, including “Add an Attachment.” A workflow using Outlook, subject to confirming how the selected screenshot output maps to the attachment field.
HTTP app and an email module Make’s HTTP app can call API services and includes request and file-download modules. A custom integration where the chosen screenshot API’s authentication and response format are configured explicitly.

These are documented integration listings, not guarantees that every account exposes identical modules or fields. The available documentation does not establish comparable prices, speed, image quality, or reliability for these routes.

Set up a screenshot-and-email scenario

  1. Create a scenario. In Make, create a scenario and add the screenshot app and action that matches the workflow you chose. The direct combined GetScreenshot action is “Take Screenshot + Send it via Email.”
  2. Choose the capture scope. Select a full webpage screenshot or, if the chosen action supports it, an element screenshot. GetScreenshot’s element action requires an element selector. Use the selector for the page element you intend to capture.
  3. Connect the services. Authorize the screenshot service and the email provider through Make’s connection setup. Connection details vary by app.
  4. Configure the email fields. Enter the recipient, subject, and message using the fields shown by the selected email module. Check whether the screenshot is attached, linked, or delivered another way; do not infer the format from the integration name alone.
  5. Run a controlled test. Capture a page you are authorized to access, send a test message to yourself, and inspect the received email to confirm the image is usable and delivered in the expected form.

Use a separate capture and email step

If you select a standalone “Take Screenshot” or “Take Element Screenshot” action, add an email module afterward—for example, Gmail’s “Send an email.” Map the screenshot output into the email module only where Make exposes a compatible field. The integration listings establish that these actions exist, but not a universal field mapping; module outputs and email attachment fields can vary.

Use Outlook with HTML to Image API

Make lists an HTML to Image API “Capture Website Screenshot” action and Microsoft 365 Email actions, including “Add an Attachment.” Add the relevant modules to the scenario, connect the accounts, and inspect the output and attachment fields in the currently selected modules. The listing does not document an exact screenshot-to-attachment mapping, so confirm it in the scenario and test the received message before using the workflow for routine delivery.

Call a screenshot API through Make HTTP

Make’s HTTP app can connect to API services without a native integration and provides request and file-download modules. This approach requires configuring the chosen service’s authentication and handling its response in the format that service returns. The Make documentation does not validate a particular screenshot API or provide a universal sequence of fields for one, so follow that API’s instructions and verify whether the response is an image file, a URL, or another result before mapping it into email.

Or skip the browser setup

Instead of configuring browser capture yourself, you can request a screenshot from ScreenshotNeo, a website screenshot API and MCP server. It accepts a URL and returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. For a simple image request, download the API response and then pass the resulting file into your Make email workflow using the modules and fields available in your account.

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Troubleshoot delivery problems

  • The screenshot action is missing. Search Make’s current app and module listings; availability and configuration can change. Choose another listed route, such as an HTTP request to a screenshot API, if it fits your setup.
  • An element capture is empty or wrong. Check that the selector is valid for the page and identifies the intended element. The GetScreenshot element action requires a selector.
  • The email arrives without an image. Inspect the output of the capture module and the email module’s fields. Confirm whether the selected route returns an attachment, link, or other delivery format, then map compatible output accordingly.
  • The API call fails or returns an unusable result. Check the screenshot service’s authentication requirements and response format. With Make HTTP, configure the request or file-download step to match that service rather than assuming a generic image response.
  • The scenario works in setup but not as intended in delivery. Send a controlled test to yourself and inspect the actual message and image before depending on the scenario.

Performance, reliability, and cost

The cited Make integration listings do not provide comparable pricing, capture speed, image quality, or reliability measurements for these options. Make’s module availability and configuration can change, and the listings establish that modules are offered—not that a particular scenario has been tested or will deliver successfully in every account. Validate the exact selected modules and test the end-to-end email flow before putting it into regular use.
