To capture a product page without a cookie banner covering it, select the banner in your browser’s Developer Tools and hide that page element, then take a screenshot. This changes the rendered view; it does not accept or reject cookies. If you need to show what a visitor actually saw, keep the banner visible or make a real choice through the site’s consent controls.
Choose what the screenshot should represent
- Show the visitor’s actual view: Leave the banner in place and capture the page.
- Show the result of a consent choice: Use the website’s accept, reject, or preference controls, then capture the page as it appears. The available controls and their labels vary by site.
- Make an unobstructed product image: Hide the banner element in Developer Tools and capture the page. If the image is used as evidence, identify it as a modified rendering rather than an unaltered visitor view.
Hiding a banner is a visual edit, not a consent action. Deleting stored cookies is a separate storage operation and does not guarantee that a banner will stay away; Chrome documents cookie inspection and deletion at its DevTools cookie guide.
Chrome: hide the banner and capture the product
Hide the banner
- Open the product page in Chrome.
- Right-click the cookie banner and choose Inspect. DevTools opens with the corresponding DOM node selected in the Elements panel.
- Check that the highlighted element is the banner or its overlay, rather than a product-page container. Press H to hide the selected node. Press H again to show it.

If hiding the selected node leaves a dimmed backdrop or another part of the banner, inspect that remaining layer and hide its node too. Avoid hiding a broad parent element that also contains the product details you need.
Capture the product area
To capture a specific product image or information region, select that element in the Elements panel, right-click its DOM node, and choose the node screenshot command. Chrome’s node screenshot feature can capture content below the viewport as well; see Chrome’s DevTools node screenshot documentation. If you only need what is currently visible, use your usual operating-system screenshot shortcut after hiding the banner.
Chrome’s cited documentation supports selected-node screenshots, but does not establish one universal full-page workflow for every Chrome version or page. For a full-page capture, use a browser workflow you have verified for your version, or use Firefox’s documented full-page control below.
Firefox: capture a page or a selected element
Enable the full-page screenshot button
- Open Developer Tools settings.
- Under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Return to the page and use the screenshot button in the Developer Tools toolbar to capture the full page.

Hide or capture a selected node
In the Inspector’s HTML pane, select the banner node and use its hide control; the secondary walkthrough describes pressing H to toggle the selected node’s visibility. To capture a particular element, use the node’s context menu and choose Screenshot Node. Reloading the page restores its initial rendered state, so hiding the banner this way does not change the site’s stored consent choice. Pick the right capture scope
- Visible viewport: Best when the product image and essential details fit on screen. Hide the banner, then take a regular screenshot.
- Selected element: Best for a product image or details panel that should be isolated from surrounding page content. Chrome and Firefox document node screenshots.
- Full page: Best when you need context from the rest of the listing, such as descriptions or specifications farther down the page. Firefox documents this directly; Chrome’s cited material does not verify a universal full-page procedure.
These steps are documented for desktop Chrome and Firefox. The sources cited here do not establish identical controls in Safari, mobile browsers, or on every website. A banner built in a way that makes its element difficult to select may require inspecting nearby DOM nodes to identify the correct overlay.

The banner disappears, but a gray overlay remains
The backdrop may be a separate DOM element. Inspect the remaining overlay, select its node, and hide it as well. Be careful not to hide a parent containing the product content.

H hides the wrong thing or does nothing
First click the banner’s element in the Elements panel so that the intended DOM node is selected, then press H. If the selection is a wrapper around the whole page, choose a narrower banner or overlay node. Reload the page to restore its original rendering.
The product image is cut off
Use a selected-node screenshot if you need the complete image or details beyond the viewport. Chrome’s documented node screenshot can include content below the viewport; Firefox also supports screenshots of selected elements.

The page still shows a banner after removing cookies
Cookie storage and the displayed banner are not the same thing. A site can show its prompt based on its own behavior, and deleting cookies is not a reliable universal way to hide it. For a visual-only capture, hide the DOM node; for a genuine consent state, use the site’s consent controls.
Keep the screenshot’s meaning clear
A screenshot with a hidden banner shows a deliberately altered rendering. Keep the original view as well if you need an audit trail, or use the site’s consent controls when the purpose is to document a real visitor choice. That distinction prevents a clean product image from being mistaken for an untouched page or proof of consent.
