Scroll the page in manageable increments, pause until each new section and its images appear, and only then take a full-page screenshot. A full-page capture records the page’s current content; it cannot capture sections an infinite-scroll site has not added yet. On a slow connection, there is no universal wait time—check the page itself before capturing.
Why a full-page screenshot can miss content
Infinite-scroll pages add more content as you move down the page. A full-page screenshot tool can capture the document that exists at that moment, but it does not necessarily trigger the site to load every later section. Images may be delayed too: the HTML loading="lazy" attribute defers image loading until an image is within a browser-calculated distance of the viewport. The page’s load event does not guarantee that all lazy-loaded images are ready. MDN’s image element reference and its lazy-loading guide explain these behaviors.

Load the content before capturing it
- Open the page and let the first screen settle. If you need to document what appears during a slow load, use Chrome DevTools’ Network-panel screenshots before reloading. They record the page’s appearance at points during loading alongside network activity; they are useful for showing progression, not a substitute for a final full-page image. See Chrome DevTools network documentation and the Network features reference.
- Scroll down partway and pause. Use increments small enough to bring the next content into view. Wait for new sections and images to appear before continuing. Slow connections and different sites require different delays, so judge by what has loaded rather than relying on a fixed number of seconds.
- Repeat to the endpoint you need. Continue until the page stops appending content or you reach the specific section you want to save. If it keeps loading indefinitely, define a practical stopping point, such as the last item you need.
- Inspect the bottom of the intended capture. If a section or its images are missing, scroll farther and wait again. Do not use the ordinary page-load event as proof that lazy images have finished loading.
- Capture the full page, then verify it. Check the saved image at the top, middle, and bottom. This catches missing sections, unloaded images, and incomplete captures.
Choose a browser capture method
Firefox: capture the full page
Firefox DevTools can capture an entire page. If the screenshot button is not visible, enable it in DevTools settings under “Available Toolbox Buttons.” Firefox’s Web Console also supports screenshot <filename.png> --fullpage. The saved screenshot goes to the browser’s Downloads directory. See Mozilla’s Taking screenshots documentation.
Chrome: capture a full-size screenshot
Open DevTools, open the Command Menu, and search for the full-size screenshot command; Chrome’s Device Mode documentation calls it “Capture a full size screenshot.” It captures the whole page, including content outside the current viewport—but only content the page has already added. See Chrome’s Capture a screenshot guide.

Chrome: record the loading sequence
When the goal is to show how a page appears over time on a slow connection, use the Network panel’s Screenshots feature and reload with the panel open. Its captures correspond to points during loading. This is different from saving one final, complete page image.
Automate repeat captures with Playwright
Playwright can capture the current full scrollable page with fullPage: true. The screenshot call alone does not prove a site’s custom infinite-scroll requests have completed; add site-specific scrolling and waiting first. Playwright documents the capture option at Screenshots.

const { chromium } = require('playwright');
(async () => {
const browser = await chromium.launch();
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('https://example.com', { waitUntil: 'domcontentloaded' });
// Scroll in steps so the site can append content and lazy images can load.
let previousHeight = 0;
for (let i = 0; i < 30; i++) {
const height = await page.evaluate(() => document.body.scrollHeight);
if (height === previousHeight) break;
previousHeight = height;
await page.evaluate(() => window.scrollTo(0, document.body.scrollHeight));
await page.waitForTimeout(1500); // Adjust for the page and connection.
}
await page.screenshot({ path: 'screenshot.png', fullPage: true });
await browser.close();
})();
The example uses a bounded number of scroll attempts and a sample pause, not a guarantee that every site is complete. Adjust the wait to observed loading, and prefer a page-specific stopping condition when the site exposes one. A page may need repeated scrolling even when its height appears unchanged, or may keep growing because it loads content continuously.

- Later sections are absent: the site had not appended them when you captured. Scroll farther, pause for content, and capture again.
- Images are blank or missing: they may be lazy-loaded. Bring them near the viewport, wait for them to appear, inspect the lower sections, then recapture.
- The screenshot ends too early: a full-page command captures the current document, not content the site has yet to fetch. Complete the scroll-and-wait process first.
- Automation stops while the page is still loading: fixed pauses and unchanged page height are imperfect signals. Increase the pause or use a page-specific condition, such as waiting for the next item’s selector, before continuing.
- The capture is unexpectedly huge or never reaches a natural end: endless feeds may keep appending items. Set a deliberate stopping point and capture the content needed rather than treating the feed as a finite page.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its full-page capture can load lazy images, but infinite-scroll content still needs an explicit stopping point or site-specific scrolling logic; a one-call screenshot does not make an endless feed finite.
