Select the dropdown option, wait for the page to update, then capture the visible page or the full page depending on where the result appears. In Firefox, right-click an empty part of the page and choose Take Screenshot, or press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux and Command+Shift+S on macOS. Choose Save visible or Save full page, then download or copy the image.

Save or copy the screenshot, then open it once to confirm it shows the intended selection and updated content.

Choose the right Firefox capture method

Mozilla’s Firefox Source Docs explain that Developer Tools can capture the entire page or a single element. The Web Console’s :screenshot helper supports delay, full-page, and CSS-selector capture options; follow Mozilla’s instructions for the exact command syntax in your Firefox version.
When a dropdown needs careful timing
If you have selected an option and its value is displayed in the page, an ordinary visible or full-page capture is usually the straightforward choice. If the screenshot needs to show a menu or hover state that appears only briefly, Firefox’s :screenshot --delay option can add a pause before capture.

Do not assume every browser captures an open native dropdown identically. The appearance and capture behavior can depend on the browser, operating system, and whether the control is a native menu or a custom page element. The reviewed documentation does not establish one cross-browser behavior for every combination.
What to expect outside Firefox
Chrome, Firefox, and Safari each have developer tools, but that fact alone does not establish that their screenshot commands or workflows are equivalent. MDN explains how to open developer tools in these browsers in its guide to browser developer tools. Check the instructions for your specific browser rather than assuming Firefox’s menu labels or shortcuts apply elsewhere.

The screenshot shows the old result. The page may still be processing the selection. Wait for the displayed content to change before capturing; if you need a timed menu or hover state in Firefox, use the documented delay option.

The selected value is missing. Confirm it is visible in the page before capture. If the control is outside the viewport, scroll it into view or capture the full page if appropriate.

The result is cut off. Use Firefox’s Save full page or the documented full-page Developer Tools or Web Console method.

The capture includes too much surrounding content. Use Firefox Inspector’s Screenshot Node or the Web Console selector option to capture an element and its descendants.

An open dropdown looks different or closes. Native dropdown rendering varies, and the available documentation does not promise identical capture behavior across browsers and operating systems. If possible, select the option so its chosen value and result are displayed in the page, then capture that state.
