If letters or vowel marks are already clipped there, the screenshot is only recording a page-rendering or layout problem; it cannot restore missing text. If the page looks correct but the saved image is incomplete, adjust the capture area or use a full-page capture.
Check whether the page or the screenshot is cutting off the text
- Inspect the affected lines in the browser. Look for the top or bottom of a character disappearing, vowel signs detached or missing, conjuncts rendered incorrectly, text colliding with nearby content, or a line cut at a box edge.
- Reload and wait for the page to finish loading. A web font may load after an initial fallback font, changing the text’s dimensions and line breaks. Compare the final display with what you saw immediately after opening the page.
- Compare the live page with the saved image. If both show the same clipping, investigate page rendering or layout. If the browser display is intact but the image is not, check the selected capture bounds or use full-page/scrolling capture.
Devanagari combines consonants, inherent vowels and attached vowel signs, so inspect marks and line boundaries as well as the main letter shapes. The W3C’s Devanagari Script Resources, a Group Note Draft dated March 20, 2026, describes these script features and is explicitly a work in progress.

Fix clipping that is already visible in the browser
Try another current browser
Open the same page in another up-to-date browser and compare the affected lines. Keep the device, page zoom and approximate viewport the same, and note the browser and operating-system versions. A difference between browsers can help identify a rendering or compatibility issue, but it does not by itself establish which browser or page code is at fault.
For page owners, review fonts and layout
Check that the document uses the correct character encoding and that the chosen font supports the Hindi characters used on the page. Font fallback can change text dimensions; Chrome for Developers explains fallback behavior and platform-specific font metrics in Improved font fallbacks.

Review fixed heights, widths and overflow rules around the affected text. Chromium notes that font and element sizes can vary across browser versions and operating systems, which can cause text to wrap differently or be cut off. It recommends allowing elements to size dynamically where possible and testing across browsers and operating systems; see Fixing Google Chrome compatibility bugs in websites.
If text is blurry or unclear on Windows Chrome
Google’s Hindi-language Chrome Help guidance covers Windows ClearType and appearance-setting checks for unclear text. These address clarity, not CSS that clips text at a container boundary, so do not treat them as a fix for a layout problem.

Capture a complete page after the live text is legible
Use your browser or device’s full-page or scrolling screenshot option when the whole article needs to appear in one image. For a shorter excerpt, select a capture area that includes the complete lines. Exact menu names and availability vary by browser, operating system and device; check the current instructions for the one you use rather than relying on a universal menu path.

Open the saved image and inspect the same lines you checked in the browser. Pay particular attention to places where the page changes height or loads more content as you scroll. If a long page does not capture cleanly, take separate images of the relevant sections rather than shrinking the image until the Hindi becomes unreadable.
