A legacy LambdaTest guide describes recurring screenshot tests on a selected browser matrix, scheduled daily, weekly, or monthly, with results shared by email. However, that guide now redirects to TestMu AI, so it does not confirm that the same scheduler or controls are available today. Treat the steps below as a description of the documented workflow—not verified current dashboard instructions—and check the live product before relying on it.
What the legacy guide says the scheduler does
The guide describes a scheduler for screenshot tests across a selected browser matrix. Its documented workflow is:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Select the screenshot-test browser matrix.
- Choose a daily, weekly, or monthly frequency.
- Set the desired timing and day.
- Arrange to have the screenshot-test results shared by email.
The guide does not establish the current interface labels or confirm that these options remain available. It also does not specify the schedule’s timezone, start-date behavior, how to edit or cancel a schedule, retry rules, or email-delivery guarantees. Because the legacy article redirects to TestMu AI, verify availability and controls in the live product before setting up a recurring test. The legacy automated screenshot-testing guide
Choose a cadence and browser matrix that answer your question
Daily, weekly, or monthly
The legacy guide documents all three frequencies, but does not prescribe a best one or quantify costs, alert thresholds, or review effort. As a practical choice, schedule more often when the site changes frequently or visual issues need quick detection; choose a less frequent cadence if changes are infrequent or the team cannot review results often. Consider the volume of screenshots and email results each schedule will produce.

Pick relevant environments
The guide describes selecting a matrix involving browsers, operating systems, and devices, but does not establish which combinations are available now or recommend specific ones. Prioritize the environments that matter to your audience and that your team can realistically review. A broad matrix can expose more differences, but also creates more results to assess.

Saved configurations and page coverage
The legacy article also discusses saved configurations, recent test history, desktop screen resolutions, authenticated pages, and completion emails. These are documented topics in that article, not confirmation of current TestMu AI controls. Check that the selected configuration represents the page and environment you intend to compare.

Defer time
The legacy guide mentions a defer-time setting between image captures without giving a numeric range. In a support reply dated July 14, 2022, LambdaTest support explained: “Defer time allows you to take the screenshots of the website once all the elements of the website are loaded.” That describes its purpose, not a recommended wait duration. Pages behind a login
The old article describes an authenticated-page workflow involving a login URL, locators for the username, password, and submit button, and supplied credentials. Because these details are especially dependent on the current interface and authentication behavior, verify the live controls and your organization’s credential-handling requirements before using this approach.

If your need is a clean screenshot of a URL rather than a recurring LambdaTest matrix test, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API. For example, this cURL command requests a WebP capture of Stripe; create an API key and replace YOUR_API_KEY before running it. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for options.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and each response identifies the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides screenshot and PDF tools for AI agents, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
Sign up for ScreenshotNeo’s free plan: 1,000 screenshots a month, no card required.

Troubleshooting the documented workflow
- You cannot find a scheduler or the named options: The legacy article redirects to TestMu AI and does not prove the current interface is unchanged. Check the live product’s documentation or support rather than assuming the old labels still apply.
- The capture misses content that loads later: Review whether the current tool provides a wait or defer-time control. LambdaTest support’s 2022 explanation says defer time allows elements to load before capture; it does not give a duration to use.
- The screenshot differs across runs: Confirm that the same browser, operating system, device, screen resolution, and saved configuration are selected. These settings are discussed in the legacy guide, but their current availability is not confirmed.
- An authenticated page is not captured as expected: The legacy guide describes login URLs, field and submit-button locators, and credentials. Verify the current workflow and check that the target page can be accessed with the chosen authentication method.
- You do not receive an email or need to change a schedule: The legacy source says results are shared by email but does not document delivery guarantees, retries, timezone, or schedule-edit and cancellation steps. Consult current product support for those cases.
What is and is not established
The available legacy documentation supports a daily, weekly, or monthly recurring screenshot workflow, a selected browser matrix, chosen timing and day, and email sharing of results. It does not confirm the present-day scheduler, its exact UI, or operational details such as timezone and retries. Use it as a starting point, then validate the current TestMu AI product before depending on a schedule.
