For a Marathi church service at a set time, schedule a YouTube Live event in YouTube Studio, connect an encoder such as OBS with the event’s stream key, then start the encoder feed and confirm the stream in Live Control Room. If “continuous” means a 24/7 loop rather than a weekly scheduled service, that is a different setup: it needs a playback system that can keep sending the feed between individual broadcasts.
Choose between a scheduled sermon and a 24/7 loop
First decide what viewers should experience. A scheduled event is the straightforward choice for one service or a recurring weekly sermon: it gives the church a watch page to share ahead of time, and viewers may be able to select “Notify me.” YouTube Help describes scheduling as a way to promote a stream. A 24/7 feed instead keeps prerecorded material playing continuously; scheduling one ordinary event does not, by itself, create that loop.
- One service at a known time: create a scheduled event for that service and send its video through an encoder when it is time to begin.
- A recurring weekly service: schedule a distinct event for each service so people can find and share the right watch page.
- Unattended or round-the-clock playback: choose a computer-based, hardware or cloud playback arrangement designed to keep the feed running. Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a 24/7 broadcast use case in which one broadcast can continue while another is started and ended.
For churches serving viewers in Maharashtra or elsewhere, the same YouTube setup applies. Choose the stream’s language, title and description so Marathi-speaking viewers know what the event is; avoid implying that a scheduled watch page is already broadcasting before the church starts the encoder.
What to prepare before scheduling
Confirm the recording and permissions
Have the sermon recording ready and check that the church has permission to stream every element in it, including any music, performances, readings or excerpts. Owning a recording does not automatically establish every right needed to broadcast its contents.

Choose the encoder and access
YouTube accepts an encoder feed from software on a computer or from compatible hardware. OBS appears in YouTube’s encoder directory as free, open-source software. Use a computer that can stay connected and monitored for the service; if nobody can attend to it, consider a different operating model for the stream.
Keep access to the church’s YouTube channel and the stream key for the scheduled event. YouTube describes the key as information the encoder uses to send the feed and YouTube uses to accept it. Treat it like a password: do not post it in public notes, share it with people who do not need it, or reuse a compromised key. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.

Schedule the recorded sermon in YouTube Studio
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live.
- Create the event. Open Manage, select Schedule stream, and create a new stream or reuse settings from an earlier broadcast. Enter the intended date and start time, and add a clear Marathi title and description.
- Set the audience and privacy deliberately. Choose public, unlisted or private according to the church’s plan. Check the audience setting rather than assuming the initial value is right; YouTube documents age-related defaults. A public event is discoverable, an unlisted one is primarily accessed by people with its link, and a private one is restricted.
- Share the scheduled watch page. Once created, the event has a link the church can distribute in announcements and messages. YouTube says viewers may see an upcoming stream and a reminder option when the event is scheduled.
- Connect the encoder. In the encoder, select YouTube if it is available. Otherwise, copy the server URL and stream key shown for the scheduled event into the corresponding encoder fields. Verify that the selected event and key belong together.
- Start the feed and check the preview. At the planned time, start sending the prerecorded sermon from the encoder. Wait for the feed preview in Live Control Room, check that video and audio are present, then select Go live. Confirm the event’s privacy setting before the audience joins.
- End both sides of the session. End the event in Live Control Room and stop the encoder feed. YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; the Studio Live tab shows current, upcoming and past streams.

What changes for a true 24/7 stream?
A continuous stream needs the prerecorded playlist to keep playing and the feed to remain connected beyond one service. YouTube’s API documentation describes continuous broadcast operation, and YouTube’s encoder directory lists cloud services for continuous prerecorded streaming as well as a dedicated hardware route for scheduled prerecorded media. Those listings identify categories and products, not comparative performance guarantees or an endorsement.

Common problems and practical fixes
- The event is not visible to the intended viewers: check whether it is public, unlisted or private, and share the event link rather than a different past stream’s link.
- Live Control Room has no encoder preview: confirm the encoder is sending, and that its server URL and stream key match the scheduled event. If the key was exposed, replace it in YouTube’s settings and update the encoder.
- The stream starts, but viewers cannot hear or see the sermon: inspect the encoder preview before selecting Go live, confirm the intended recording is playing, and check the audio/video signal at the encoder.
- The sermon is meant to be 24/7 but stops after one event: a scheduled event is not a looping system. Use an arrangement that keeps playback and the feed running, and plan how a volunteer or service will monitor failures.
- The church wants the recording archived: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours. Do not rely on that rule for a longer continuous feed; preserve the original recording independently.
- A rights claim or block appears: pause promotion or streaming as needed and resolve the rights issue with the relevant rights holder or YouTube process. Check permissions for all included music and other material before trying again.
