To run several prerecorded 24/7 YouTube channels, set up a separate cloud playout and YouTube destination for each channel, then test each schedule independently. A scheduled YouTube event is not itself a continuous playlist: YouTube’s documented Live Control Room workflow accepts an encoder feed, while cloud playout services schedule uploaded media into streams. Before choosing a provider, confirm that its account and plan support the number of simultaneous outputs you need; published destination counts do not prove concurrent 24/7 capacity.
Plan one independent output for each YouTube channel
Start with a channel-by-channel map. Each output needs its own intended YouTube channel or destination, content lineup, schedule, time zone, and credentials. Keep those details together so a stream key or linked account is not accidentally assigned to the wrong channel.

- Channel and destination: identify the exact YouTube channel and the account or stream key that will receive its playout.
- Programming: list the videos, sequence, any inserted live sources, and whether the lineup runs once or repeats.
- Schedule: specify the start time, time zone, recurrence, and—if repeating—the planned end date or renewal process.
- Operations: decide who checks stream health, handles alerts, and updates content or schedules.
Do not assume a service can run one independent continuous output per connected destination. The cited provider documentation does not establish a definitive account-level concurrency allowance. Ask the provider to confirm the simultaneous playout count and applicable plan limits before you commit.

Compare providers on simultaneous independent playouts, destination limits, looping and end-date behavior, storage and playlist duration, live-source insertion, output settings, time-zone handling, monitoring and failover, and whether schedules can be edited while on air. Set up a cloud playout for each channel
Use Castr TV Playout as a documented example
Castr’s setup illustrates the cloud TV playout model. Follow the current product interface and confirm plan-specific options before creating outputs.
- Create a livestream destination first. In Castr, create the Livestream that will serve as the playout’s output. You will later select the destination for that channel.
- Create a TV Playout. Choose Schedule for consecutive scheduled content or Loop for repeating programming. Set the output frame rate and resolution at creation: Castr’s guide says these initial settings cannot be changed afterward.
- Add media. Upload the videos for the channel, then place them in the timetable in the intended order. If the plan and workflow support it, add live sources where needed.
- Choose the destination and start time. Select the livestream destination associated with the correct YouTube channel and set the schedule’s start time. Check the time zone carefully.
- Apply and verify the schedule. Review the lineup and destination before applying it. Repeat the setup for each channel, keeping each playout attached to its intended destination.
Set a real end date for loops
Castr’s Loop mode repeats content and requires an end date; the maximum loop duration depends on plan, and the product page describes loop mode as plan-dependent. Set a calendar reminder to extend or replace the loop before it expires. A loop with an end date is not an indefinite schedule unless someone renews it.
Connect each playout to the correct YouTube destination
For a Castr output, its guide describes adding YouTube as a destination either through account linking or by using platform server and key details. Confirm that the destination shown in the playout is the intended channel before applying the schedule.

YouTube’s native Live Control Room process is a different model, useful when an encoder is the stream source:
- In YouTube Live Control Room, schedule the live event.
- Enter the stream URL and key in the encoder you are using.
- Start sending the encoder feed and check the preview in Live Control Room.
- When the preview is ready, click Go live.
This workflow schedules an event and receives an encoder-originated feed; it should not be confused with a cloud service repeatedly playing an uploaded library. YouTube’s stream privacy defaults differ by age group, so inspect the visibility setting rather than assuming a scheduled event is public.
Test every channel before relying on unattended playback
Run a separate check for each output. A scheduled event page by itself does not prove that continuous playback is working.

- Confirm the destination is the right YouTube channel and that the linked account or stream key belongs to it.
- Check title, thumbnail, visibility, start time, and time zone in the YouTube event or destination setup.
- Verify video and audio playback, the expected sequence, and whether the schedule loops or ends as intended.
- Check stream health and preview after the playout starts; confirm that viewers see the expected output.
- Test alerts and any backup or failover method. Castr documents stream monitoring, alerts, and encoder-level or backup-file failover options; verify availability on the plan you select and test a failure scenario.
Cost and capacity checks before scaling
For any service, calculate the cost against the number of independent outputs you need, not simply the number of connected YouTube destinations. Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
The wrong YouTube channel receives the video
Likely cause: a destination, linked account, or stream key was assigned to another channel. Fix: stop and inspect that playout’s destination settings, verify the channel identity in YouTube, then reconnect the correct destination or key and test again.
A loop stops earlier than expected
Likely cause: the loop’s required end date has arrived or its plan has a maximum duration. Fix: check the loop end date and plan allowance, then extend or recreate the schedule before playback expires.
The scheduled event exists, but no continuous video plays
Likely cause: the event was scheduled, but an encoder feed was not started, or a cloud playout was not applied to the intended destination. Fix: for an encoder workflow, start the feed, check the preview, and click Go live; for cloud playout, verify the media timetable, destination, and applied schedule.

Output settings are wrong after creation
Likely cause: the initial Castr TV Playout frame rate or resolution was set incorrectly. Fix: the cited guide says those initial settings cannot be changed after creation; create a playout with the intended settings and verify it before relying on it.
Back-to-back playlists have a gap
Likely cause: Restream documents a two-minute buffer between back-to-back playlists, which are separate streams. Fix: account for that break when planning a finite playlist sequence; use a continuous playout workflow if an uninterrupted repeating channel is required.
Playback or a backup does not recover as expected
Likely cause: monitoring, alerts, or failover may not be enabled or included on the selected plan. Fix: verify the configured recovery behavior with the provider and deliberately test the failure path before leaving the channel unattended.
