Schedule each loop as a separate YouTube Live event, then choose that loop as the encoder’s video source when you prepare the broadcast. YouTube Studio schedules events; the encoder supplies the video. The documented workflow does not provide a built-in schedule for automatically rotating prerecorded loops.
What you can schedule in YouTube Studio
YouTube Studio lets you create separate scheduled live events, each with its own title, description, privacy setting and start time. A scheduled event can appear as an upcoming stream, which viewers may be able to open and set a reminder for. YouTube’s help page puts it plainly: “Scheduling a stream lets you promote your stream.” YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

The event is not the video loop itself. An encoder sends the live feed to YouTube, so you must select the intended prerecorded video in the encoder and connect it to the event’s stream URL and key.

- Open the live scheduling controls. In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live, then open Manage and select Schedule Stream.
- Create the event. Choose Create new for a clean setup, or Reuse settings to copy a previous event’s metadata, settings and stream key. You can edit the new event after creating it, so review the copied title, description, privacy and scheduled time. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings.
- Set the event details. Use a distinct, accurate title and description for the loop viewers will see. Choose its privacy and start time. Scheduling in advance can give viewers an upcoming event page and the option to select Notify me.
- Repeat for each loop and time. Create a separate event for every broadcast that needs its own scheduled time or event details. Keep a simple mapping of event title, start time and intended video file so you do not attach the wrong loop.
Connect the intended loop through an encoder
- Choose the video source. In the encoder, select the prerecorded loop intended for the scheduled event. This selection happens in the encoder, not in YouTube’s event scheduler.
- Enter YouTube’s connection details. In Live Control Room, get the stream URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder’s YouTube connection settings. The key authorizes the encoder feed; treat it as a password and do not publish it.
- Start the encoder and check the preview. Wait for the feed to appear in Live Control Room. Confirm that the correct loop is playing and that its audio and video look right. YouTube recommends testing the setup and monitoring stream quality. YouTube Help: YouTube live streaming tips.
- Start the event. Once the preview is correct, select Go live in Live Control Room if the event is not configured to start automatically. Auto-start and auto-stop govern starting or stopping the stream from the encoder; they do not select or schedule a different loop.
- End the broadcast cleanly. Select End Stream in YouTube, then stop sending the feed from the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived.
Choose new settings or reuse a prior event

A custom stream key can be reused. Because it is a credential, keep it private. If it is compromised, YouTube provides a reset process; only a channel owner or manager can reset it. Reused settings also copy auto-start and auto-stop selections, so check those along with the event details.

Separate events, one continuous broadcast or automated rotation?
Separate scheduled events
Use separate events when each loop should have its own event page, schedule or metadata. This is the documented YouTube Studio scheduling workflow.
One continuous broadcast
A continuous broadcast is a different operating model from scheduling individual events. The scheduling instructions describe individual events and do not establish a built-in way to rotate a playlist of local videos at specific times within one ongoing broadcast.

Automatic rotation
The YouTube help pages cited here do not explain how to define a recurring prerecorded playlist or automatically switch loops on a schedule inside Studio. That is a limit of the documented workflow, not proof that no third-party product or integration can do it. If unattended rotation is essential, verify that a separate scheduling or automation tool supports your exact YouTube workflow before relying on it.
