YouTube Studio lets you schedule an individual live stream, but its documented workflow does not provide a recurring 24/7 playlist scheduler or a UTC-specific scheduling control. Use UTC as a shared timekeeping convention for your team, not as a YouTube automation feature. To keep prerecorded video streaming continuously, you need an encoder or service that handles continuous playback; verify its UTC, recurrence, recovery, and archive behavior separately.
What YouTube scheduling does—and does not—do
YouTube’s documented schedule flow creates an upcoming live event. It does not establish that Studio can automatically repeat a playlist around the clock or accept UTC as a distinct time-zone setting. The documented encoder workflow still requires you to start the feed and launch the event in Live Control Room. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions and live stream settings.

For a prerecorded playlist that must keep running continuously, use an encoder or a streaming service that supports continuous playback. Before relying on any provider, confirm that it supports actual 24/7 playback rather than event scheduling alone, and check how it handles UTC, daylight-saving changes, restarts, network failures, alerts, stream-key security, and archives.

Open Manage, choose Schedule Stream, and create a stream or reuse settings from an earlier one.

Enter the event details and schedule it. A scheduled stream may appear as upcoming, where viewers can opt in to reminders.

In your encoder, enter YouTube’s stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: it authorizes an encoder to send a feed to your channel.

Start the encoder and wait for its preview in Live Control Room. Check the preview, then click Go live to launch the event.

Scheduling the event does not, by itself, start a continuous playlist. You must have an encoder or service supplying the video feed, and the documented workflow calls for starting that feed and going live.
Coordinate the schedule in UTC
The reviewed YouTube instructions do not show a UTC control in the scheduled-stream interface. If you coordinate with people in different time zones, agree on one UTC instant and record it unambiguously—for example, 2026-10-03T20:00Z. Convert that instant to local display time only when needed.

Use a time-zone-aware calendar or converter that accounts for daylight-saving transitions.

Do not rely on a fixed UTC offset for locations that observe daylight saving; the local offset can change seasonally.

If an encoder or service claims to schedule in UTC, check its current documentation for the exact behavior. UTC coordination does not prove that YouTube Studio or a provider will repeat a playlist automatically.
Check channel eligibility and prepare the event
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to live stream. YouTube describes encoder streaming as one of its stream types for connecting external production. Review the current YouTube live-streaming requirements before scheduling.
For encoder events, YouTube’s streaming tips recommend setup at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event. These are event-preparation recommendations, not a guarantee of unattended 24/7 uptime.

Test backup-encoder failover and verify that local archive files are being saved if you rely on them.

Check that the event is reachable from channel and watch pages and from mobile devices.

Monitor audio and video quality while the broadcast runs.

Understand the archive limit for continuous streams
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single uninterrupted 24-hour stream will create one complete replay: YouTube’s guidance does not establish that outcome, and the archive behavior of a third-party 24/7 service depends on that provider’s implementation.
