Scheduling creates an event for viewers to find; it does not start the broadcast. At the planned time, open the event in Talk Studio and press Go Live.
Schedule your Talk Studio stream
- Open Schedule. In Talk Studio, select Schedule or press Shift+J, then choose + Schedule.
- Choose destinations. Select the platform or platforms where you want to stream. Keep those destinations connected after scheduling; Streamlabs says removing destinations afterward is not supported for scheduled streams.
- Choose the stream type. Select Live-stream for a live broadcast, or Pre-recorded video if you want to play an uploaded recording.
- Fill in the event details. Add the title, description, scheduled date and time, and thumbnail.
- Confirm the schedule. Check for Talk Studio’s success notification. It may include guest invitation links and shareable links for promoting the event. Save or share the relevant links so viewers know where and when to watch.
Streamlabs’ scheduling article, last updated April 25, 2025, says you can schedule up to 50 days ahead. Scheduling limits and destination integrations can change, so check the current Talk Studio interface if a control or limit differs.

Enter the studio and start at the scheduled time
- Open Schedule and find the event.
- Select Enter Studio. If guests are joining, enter the studio before inviting them.
- When you are ready to begin, select Go Live or press Shift+Enter.
- If you entered the studio but are not ready to broadcast, use Schedule to leave without starting the stream.
Streamlabs says to start within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. If the scheduled date and time have already passed, its guide says the event cannot be started; delete it and create a new schedule.
Destination links and platform-specific constraints
According to Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn create event links. Twitter and Twitch are channel-based in this workflow and do not create advance event links. Custom RTMP destinations are not supported for scheduling.

If Facebook scheduling fails
Streamlabs recommends reviewing Facebook Business Integrations permissions for the Talk Studio (Streaming) app. After the event is created, open its Facebook Event and use Share > Share to Feed if you want it to appear in the feed.

Scheduling a pre-recorded video
For a pre-recorded event, choose Pre-recorded video during scheduling and upload the recording. Streamlabs’ scheduling article lists a 5 GB maximum file size and maximum durations of one hour on Standard or two hours on Pro/Ultra. These are plan limits stated in its article, last updated April 25, 2025; confirm current plan and upload limits in Talk Studio before preparing a file.

Talk Studio runs in a browser. Streamlabs’ getting-started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, recommends Chrome or Safari, a stable internet connection (preferably Ethernet), and at least 5 Mbps upload speed.

These are Streamlabs’ stated connection recommendations, not a guarantee of stream quality: other devices and network traffic can affect the connection. A microphone and camera are part of a typical live setup, but you do not need to buy a microphone just to schedule an event.
Common scheduling problems and fixes
- The event time has passed: Streamlabs says an expired scheduled event cannot be started. Delete it and schedule a new event for a future time.
- You cannot start near the planned time: The published guidance says to start within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. Enter the studio and be ready to press Go Live around then.
- A destination is missing or unavailable: Check that the destination was selected when you scheduled the stream. Streamlabs says not to remove destinations after scheduling.
- Facebook scheduling fails: Review Facebook Business Integrations permissions for the Talk Studio (Streaming) app.
- Your Facebook audience cannot find the event in the feed: Open the Facebook Event and choose Share > Share to Feed.
- A custom RTMP destination is not available: Streamlabs’ scheduling guide says custom RTMP is not supported for scheduled streams; select a supported destination instead.
- A pre-recorded upload is rejected: Check the file size and duration against the limits shown in Talk Studio. Streamlabs’ April 25, 2025 article states 5 GB maximum, with one-hour Standard and two-hour Pro/Ultra duration limits.
- The stream does not begin when the event is scheduled: Scheduling only creates the event. Open it through Schedule, select Enter Studio, then press Go Live when ready.
