Before moving to another phone or audio app, record the controls you rely on and treat device-transfer tools as best-effort: neither Google’s Android transfer guidance nor Samsung’s Smart Switch list specifically guarantees that Sound Assistant preferences will move.
What you can—and cannot—export from Sound Assistant
Samsung’s Sound Assistant listing describes features including per-app volume, finer volume controls, EQ and personalized audio options. It says EQ settings can be saved and shared. It does not describe a full settings export or backup covering all of those controls.

So, if you are changing phones or switching to another audio app, do not assume one exported file will preserve your complete Sound Assistant setup. Save or share EQ settings using the feature available in your version, and separately record other settings you want to recreate.

- Open Sound Assistant on the old phone. Review the controls you have customized, such as per-app volume and other audio options.
- Save or share EQ settings where available. This is the specific save/share capability documented in Samsung’s listing; availability and labels can depend on the installed version.
- Note the rest. Write down the values and choices you care about, or capture screenshots so you can refer to them while setting up the destination. This is a manual record, not a Sound Assistant export.
Choose a phone-transfer route without assuming settings will follow

For Galaxy-to-Galaxy moves, Smart Switch is Samsung’s intended content-transfer route, but its general app categories are not a promise that Sound Assistant module preferences will be restored. Samsung also describes making a Smart Switch computer backup; that is a device-backup route, not a documented Sound Assistant settings export.

Using Android’s wired or wireless transfer
Google describes copying apps and data during new-device setup, either wirelessly or with a cable. Follow the transfer choices shown on your devices; the exact process and supported data depend on the devices and Android versions. Google says the transfer opportunity may be limited to setup, so decide on the route while configuring the new phone.
- Wired: Use a compatible data-transfer cable only if both devices support its connectors and data transfer. A cable moves supported device content; it does not itself export Sound Assistant settings.
- Wireless: Choose the wireless copy option if it is offered for your devices and is more convenient. The same limitation applies: a successful device transfer does not prove that every app’s preferences came along.
After the move: verify before wiping the old phone
- Finish the phone transfer and install or open Sound Assistant on the destination Galaxy, if it is available for that device.
- Check whether the settings you recorded—or saved EQ settings—are present. Recreate missing settings manually from your notes or screenshots.
- Keep the old phone until you have confirmed that the new setup works for you. This is a precaution because official transfer documentation does not specifically confirm Sound Assistant settings will transfer.
If you are switching to a different audio app rather than a new phone, do not expect Sound Assistant’s settings to import automatically. Use the saved EQ information and your manual record to configure equivalent controls if the new app offers them; options and terminology may differ between apps.
