UFO 50 does not have one confirmed save-and-resume rule for all 50 games. Check the individual game’s Continue or progress options, and before exiting, wait until the spinning-disk save notification disappears. On Windows, the save files are in %LOCALAPPDATA%ufo50.
How to continue progress in UFO 50
- Start UFO 50 and open the game you want to play.
- Look for that game’s Continue option or a progress-selection screen. The exact behavior depends on the individual game; available sources do not establish that every game resumes an unfinished session from the same point.
- Before leaving, wait for the spinning-disk save notification to disappear. Mossmouth’s pinned Technical Support (Read First) post says to exit only when no save notification is visible, to avoid corrupting future saves.
One game-specific example: Avianos
A player response in the Steam Community discussion about quick save/load reports that Avianos remembers completed levels, but not a match that is still in progress. In that example, the player uses Continue and selects the level reached. Treat this as a report about Avianos, not a promise about every UFO 50 game.

Where UFO 50 stores saves on Windows
Mossmouth identifies the Windows save directory as %LOCALAPPDATA%ufo50, usually shown as C:Users[Your Name]AppDataLocalufo50. The folder can contain configuration and account data, save-game files ending in .ufo, and .bak backups. If you cannot find it, search the PC for *.ufo.

The published recovery instructions cover Windows; they do not establish corresponding paths or restore steps for macOS, Linux, or Steam Deck. Steam’s UFO 50 listing says the game supports Steam Cloud, but that listing does not explain sync timing or guarantee recovery in every lost-save situation.
#1 Best Overall
- Minecraft is a game about placing blocks and going on adventures
- Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles
- Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs
- Play on the go in handheld or tabletop modes
- Includes Super Mario Mash-Up, Natural Texture Pack, Biome Settlers Skin Pack, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Campfire Tales Skin Pack; Compatible with Nintendo Switch only
Recover a possibly corrupted Windows save
Make a copy of the relevant files before changing them. Mossmouth’s support instructions recommend temporarily disabling Steam Cloud while troubleshooting so it does not restore a corrupt save or configuration during the repair.
- In Steam, open UFO 50’s game properties and temporarily turn off Steam Cloud for the game.
- Open
%LOCALAPPDATA%ufo50. If necessary, search your PC for*.ufo. - Copy the entire folder, or at minimum the candidate backup files, to a separate safe location before editing or replacing anything.
- For a save-file error, identify the relevant profile file, such as
saveX.ufo, and a dated backup named likesaveX_*.bak. Copy the backup elsewhere first. Then rename a working copy to the target save filename and use it to replace the target. If the newest backup does not work, try an older one. - If the error concerns
account.ufo, Mossmouth says deleting that file should not affect game progress. This is separate from replacing asaveX.ufoprofile save. - Once the game works again, turn Steam Cloud back on. If Steam presents a local-versus-cloud conflict, choose carefully: the support post does not document every possible conflict outcome.
Do not uninstall as the first recovery step. Mossmouth describes removing the remaining UFO 50 files after uninstalling as an option for someone who deliberately wants a completely fresh start; it resets UFO 50 data.

What to verify for a particular game
Behavior differs across the collection, and the cited community discussions do not provide a complete, reliable inventory for all games. For the specific game you are playing, check:
- Whether progress saves automatically or requires a manual action.
- Whether it records completed stages only or also an unfinished session.
- Where its Continue option appears and what it offers.
- What happens to progress when you return to UFO 50’s game-selection screen.
The Avianos example supports only the distinction between completed levels and an unfinished match; it does not establish these details for the other games.
