Before quitting, follow the game’s current on-screen prompts rather than assuming a checkpoint has saved everything.
What checkpoints do
Checkpoints act as restart points after failure. A PlayStation 5 review reports that death sends the player back to a checkpoint, but also describes a sequence that had to be replayed from the checkpoint before it. That means checkpoint placement can affect how much of a section you repeat; the review is not a complete, level-by-level checkpoint guide. Read the PS5 review.

How to save before quitting
The sources available do not establish whether the game offers a manual-save command, when autosaves occur, or whether reaching a checkpoint guarantees that all current progress is saved before quitting. They also do not provide verified button-by-button instructions for exiting safely. Check the game’s current on-screen prompts and official support information for your platform before closing the game; do not treat a checkpoint as confirmation of a particular save procedure.

The Great Bridge update
A SteamDB record for version 1.0.3, dated November 14, 2024, reports that the update added a checkpoint on The Great Bridge and introduced a system intended to protect against save corruption. This is a dated patch record: it does not establish when that update reached each console, or whether later updates changed the system. See the version 1.0.3 patch record.

Cloud-save listings are platform features
The Nintendo US store listing advertises Nintendo Switch Online Save Data Cloud for the Switch edition. View the Nintendo Switch listing. Steam’s PC listing advertises Steam Cloud. View the Steam listing. These are platform cloud-save features; the listings do not explain the game’s in-game save timing, manual-save controls, backup frequency, or restore steps. Do not assume cloud availability proves that a specific checkpoint or recent action has synced.

The available evidence confirms that checkpoints exist, but does not provide a comprehensive location list. The Great Bridge is one documented example in the version 1.0.3 patch record; the PS5 review provides another example of how a checkpoint can determine where a sequence restarts after failure. For the next checkpoint in your current section, use the game’s on-screen cues rather than relying on an unverified map.

Platform and version context
Platform listings identify distinct releases and cloud features, but they do not establish that saving works identically across platforms. Nintendo’s US listing identifies the Switch edition as released September 30, 2026, with 7Levels as publisher and 7Levels S.A. as developer. Steam lists the PC release date as October 22, 2024, and names 7Levels and 4Divinity as publishers. Those store details do not confirm current checkpoint behavior on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, or Switch.
