Set Cypress’s screenshotsFolder option to change the common destination for screenshots. For a one-off subfolder or filename, pass a relative path to cy.screenshot(). The documented default folder is cypress/screenshots.
Change the folder for all Cypress screenshots
Set screenshotsFolder in your Cypress configuration. It changes the root used by manual cy.screenshot() calls and failure screenshots captured during cypress run. See Cypress’s configuration reference.

Override the folder for one run
Use Cypress’s --config CLI option when you want a temporary destination rather than changing the project configuration:

Put an individual screenshot in a subfolder
Pass a relative path as the filename argument to cy.screenshot():

cy.screenshot('actions/login/clicking-login')Cypress creates the nested folders. The named screenshot’s output follows the pattern {screenshotsFolder}/{adjustedSpecPath}/{name}.png; the argument is not an unrestricted absolute destination. See the cy.screenshot() API.
Use screenshotsFolder to relocate the common root, and the command argument to organize a particular capture beneath that root. Duplicate names are numbered by default; pass { overwrite: true } to explicitly overwrite a duplicate.

Keep screenshots between Cypress runs
Before cypress run, Cypress clears the contents of configured asset folders by default, including nested files in the screenshots folder. If screenshots in the destination must persist between runs, set trashAssetsBeforeRuns: false. This also affects the downloads and videos asset folders. Know when Cypress captures screenshots automatically
Cypress automatically captures screenshots for test failures in cypress run, but it does not do so in cypress open. Manual cy.screenshot() calls work in both modes.

Troubleshoot the destination
- Screenshots still go to the old folder: check that
screenshotsFolderis set in the active configuration, or that the CLI override is spelled correctly. A CLI value overrides the file value. - A screenshot appears below a spec-specific directory: named screenshots include the adjusted spec-file path as well as the configured root. The
cy.screenshot()argument adds its relative path beneath that structure. - Earlier screenshots disappear after a run: Cypress clears configured asset-folder contents before
cypress runby default. SettrashAssetsBeforeRuns: falseif those artifacts need to remain. - No automatic failure screenshot appears in the interactive runner: automatic failure screenshots are a
cypress runbehavior. Add a manualcy.screenshot()call if a capture is needed incypress open.
