Later, you can find the login in Firefox’s saved-passwords area or use it from the website’s login screen. Menu names and locations can vary by Firefox version, so follow the closest current label in your app.
Turn on password saving in Firefox
- Open Firefox on your iPhone and tap the menu button.
- Tap Settings.
- Open Autofills & Passwords. This is the label in Mozilla’s April 2025 instructions; a newer version may use a different route or wording.
- Turn on Save Passwords.
- Sign in to a website. When Firefox asks whether to save the username and password, accept the prompt.
When creating a new account, Firefox can also offer Use strong password to generate and fill a password. Mozilla Support’s “Generate strong passwords in Firefox for iOS,” updated April 8, 2025, says Firefox for iOS includes a built-in password generator to help create strong, unique passwords. Using the generator is optional; it is not required to save a password you already have.

Find, view, or change a saved password
- Open Firefox’s menu and tap Settings.
- Open the password settings and choose the website under Saved Passwords.
- Select the login you want to manage.
Choose Edit to change the username or password. In edit mode, tap the password field to reveal the stored password; Mozilla’s guide also describes touching and holding the password field to reveal it. Choose Delete to remove the saved login.

Use a saved login to sign in
- Open the website’s login page in Firefox and tap its username or password field.
- When Firefox offers Use a saved password, tap it to view available credentials.
- Select the correct login. If you have saved more than one login for the site, choose the username you want.
- Use Manage passwords on the credential card if you need to review or change a saved login.
Add a login if Firefox did not prompt you
Mozilla’s manual-add guide describes adding a login through Firefox’s settings: open the menu, go to Settings, open the login or password settings, tap the add icon, enter the website address, username, and password, then save. That guide was last updated September 3, 2021 and uses older labels such as “Logins and Passwords,” so the current wording and route may differ.
Sync Firefox passwords to your other devices
Saving a password in Firefox on your iPhone does not by itself make it available on another device. For cross-device access, sign in to a Mozilla account and enable login sync. Mozilla’s instructions, updated April 1, 2026, give this route: open Firefox Settings, tap your Mozilla account, and turn on Logins. Sync runs at regular intervals, and Firefox also offers a manual sync option. Mozilla says login sync is also required to use Firefox for system-wide password autofill.

Protect saved logins and know where to look
Mozilla documents optional access protection for stored logins using Face ID, Touch ID, or the device passcode. Availability and settings depend on the iPhone and iOS version; the relevant support article dates from September 30, 2023, so check Firefox’s current privacy or password settings for the option on your device.
