Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo browse a website offline, create a local mirror with a site copier such as HTTrack, then check the crawl logs and open saved pages from your local folder. For a preservation copy intended for replay, HTTrack can also save a WARC archive, with optional CDXJ indexing and WACZ packaging. Neither approach guarantees a complete copy of pages or features built dynamically with JavaScript.
Choose the kind of offline copy you need
| Goal | Suitable approach | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Keep one page for quick reference | Use your browser’s save-page feature. | A saved page and related files; this is not a site-wide crawl. |
| Browse a site’s linked pages offline | Create a scoped mirror with HTTrack. | A local folder of downloaded files with links rewritten for offline browsing. |
| Preserve material for later replay | Save a WARC archive alongside the mirror; optionally add CDXJ and WACZ packaging. | A replay-oriented archive in addition to—not instead of—the browsable mirror. |
HTTrack describes itself as an offline browser that recursively downloads site content, including HTML, images, and other files. It can also update an existing mirror and resume interrupted downloads. See the official HTTrack overview and its documentation.

Install the version for your platform
Get HTTrack from its official download listing and verify the current build for your operating system there. As of October 7, 2026, the homepage announced version 3.50-5 while the download page displayed 3.50-2, so the available version information was inconsistent.
Choose a start URL and destination
Start with the site address you want to copy and a destination folder with enough room for the files you intend to keep. The documented command-line example is:

- Easily store and access 2TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
httrack https://example.com/ --path mydir
In the graphical interface, choose the starting URL and a local destination; these are the same basic choices as in the command. The command-line guide documents a default scope that stays on the same host, follows links to any depth, rewrites retained links for offline browsing, and stores logs and cache files with the output. Read the HTTrack command-line guide for available options.
Check the crawl scope
A start URL does not necessarily include every related host. Subdomains and CDN-hosted assets can fall outside the default same-host scope. Redirects can also move a crawl between the www and apex versions of a domain, or between HTTP and HTTPS, changing which host is being fetched. Check the resulting URLs and logs rather than assuming the mirror includes every part of a site.

- Easily store and access 5TB of content on the go with the Seagate portable drive, a USB external hard Drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
Check the copy before relying on it
- Review the project log. Look for URLs that were refused, redirected, or filtered; the log can help explain missing pages.
- Open several saved pages locally. Follow links between pages and check that important images and other assets load from the local copy.
- Test without a network connection. This helps distinguish genuinely saved content from content your browser is still retrieving online.
These checks can expose omissions, but they cannot prove that every page or feature was captured.

HTTrack parses HTML and CSS but does not execute JavaScript. It may therefore miss links or files that exist only after a page’s scripts run; the guide says there is no option that lets the crawler discover a URL absent from static HTML or CSS. Do not assume a mirror will preserve every interactive feature, login-only page, video, or dynamic application.
Rank #3
- Easily store and access 1TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive.Specific uses: Personal
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop. Reformatting may be required for Mac
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
The tool also states that it does not verify TLS certificates. Using an HTTPS address does not mean HTTrack independently authenticates the site being copied.
Save an archive for replay as well as browsing
If your goal is preservation or replay in an archive viewer, HTTrack documents writing a WARC/1.1 file alongside the mirror. WARC output is additional to the local browsable copy, not a replacement for it. The guide also documents optional CDXJ indexing and WACZ packaging for replay tools such as ReplayWeb.page. Choose this route when replay is part of the goal; a normal mirror is the more direct fit for browsing files in a folder.
Rank #4
- Easily store and access 4TB of content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive.Specific uses: Personal

Update an existing mirror carefully
HTTrack can update a previous project, but an update may purge files no longer selected by the current crawl. If the run might be partial, use the documented no-purge option so missing results from that run do not remove files from the existing mirror. Check the guide’s update options before starting.
Use a responsible crawl scope
Copying a website is the user’s responsibility. Respect the site’s rules, avoid placing unnecessary load on its servers, and obtain authorization where appropriate. The official documentation links to responsible-use guidance; it does not establish legal advice for every jurisdiction. A removable drive can be useful for keeping an archive, but HTTrack does not require a particular storage device or minimum capacity.
