Sign in to the website in your browser, open the page you want to keep, wait for its content to load, then save the currently displayed page with Save Page WE. The extension’s documented shortcut is Alt+A; you can also use its toolbar button or context menu. The result is a single HTML file, not a guarantee that a protected page will remain accessible or fully interactive offline. Open the saved file and verify the specific content you need.
Save a page you can already access
- Sign in normally. Use the website’s own login flow in your browser. Save Page WE documents saving the page as currently displayed; it does not describe a special login workflow or a way to bypass access controls.
- Navigate to the exact page. Confirm that you can see the protected content while signed in.
- Wait for the content you need. Allow delayed results, images, or other lazy-loaded content to appear. Save Page WE provides options to delay saving after the initial page load and to load lazy content. The relevant controls and their locations can vary with the extension version and browser.
- Start the save. Click the Save Page WE toolbar button, use the page context menu, or press Alt+A. To cancel a save, the extension documents Alt+C.
- Open and inspect the downloaded HTML file. Check the text, images, and embedded material you intended to keep. If offline access matters, disconnect from the network and test the file that way.
Save Page WE’s documentation and listings describe a single-file HTML output that embeds many page resources. They do not promise that the file preserves your authenticated session, grants future access to the site, or reproduces every protected feature. A page can look complete in the browser yet depend on server requests, scripts, or frames that do not work from a local file. Choose settings and review what was not saved
Save Page WE offers Basic, Standard, and Custom save settings that affect which resources are included. Use the option that matches the content you need, then review any warnings or lists of unsaved resources. Those reports are more useful than assuming the downloaded file contains everything.

- Cross-origin frames: Not all can be captured. The extension says a cross-origin frame is saved only under particular content-script conditions.
- Scripts in cross-origin frames: These are never saved, so functionality inside such a frame may not work in the local copy.
- Server-dependent content: Content fetched dynamically after the save, or requiring a live authenticated request, may be absent or unusable offline.
These are limits of what the saved copy can reproduce, not a reason to try to evade the site’s login or access restrictions. Save only material you are authorized to access and retain.

If Save Page WE does not produce the expected file
The save appears to do nothing
Check which save method is selected. Save Page WE documents an old method that may fail on some pages in Chrome 84 or later, and a new method that can save pages the old method cannot. The Chrome Web Store listing identifies version 33.9 and an update date of September 5, 2023; treat those details as dated listing information, not a guarantee about current browser menus or behavior. You cannot find the downloaded file
Check the browser’s download settings and recent downloads. The selected browser settings determine where the file is written.

The file exists, but images or content are missing
Return to the signed-in page, wait for the missing material to load, and save again with the relevant lazy-content or delay options enabled. Then inspect Save Page WE’s warnings and unsaved-resource list. If the missing part is an unsupported cross-origin frame or requires live server interaction, changing the save timing may not make it work offline.

The page works online but not from the saved file
That points to a dependency on a live request, script, or frame rather than a failure to download the HTML itself. The local file is a snapshot, and the extension does not promise authenticated replay. Keep the browser-accessible original available if you need the site’s interactive functions.

Firefox’s built-in Save Page As option
If you are using Firefox and need a fallback, choose Save Page As from the browser menu. Mozilla documents four formats, with different trade-offs:
