If you need an image of exactly what is visible on screen, capture it first with Windows logo key + Shift + S, save the snip, then print that image to a PDF destination if one is available. These are different results: printing can reflow a page; a screenshot preserves the selected screen pixels.
Choose the right method: webpage PDF or screenshot PDF?

Method 1: Save the webpage directly as a PDF in Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome. Make sure the page has loaded and that you are comfortable with everything visible in the document.
- Press Ctrl+P to open print preview. Chrome documents this shortcut for Windows and Linux.
- In the print preview, set the destination to Save as PDF. This option depends on the computer’s available print destinations.
- Adjust print settings such as pages or layout if needed, then select Save.
- Choose a folder and filename only if the café permits saving there. If Chrome asks for a location, choose an approved one.
- Confirm that the file exists and opens as expected before you leave the computer.
This is generally the simplest option for a readable page document. Print layout can change spacing, pagination, and other on-screen details, so use the screenshot method when those pixels matter.

Method 2: Capture the visible screen and make it a PDF
- Bring the webpage area you want into view. Avoid including browser tabs, address bars, account details, or other private information unless they are essential to the capture.
- Press Windows logo key + Shift + S. The Snipping Tool overlay offers rectangular, freeform, window, and full-screen capture options.
- Select the area or screen to capture. The snip is copied to Snipping Tool, where you can save it as an image.
- Open the saved image and choose its print command. In the print dialog, select a PDF destination such as Save as PDF if the computer provides one, then save the PDF to an approved location.
- Open the saved PDF to check that the image is legible and the intended screen area is present.
Because a screenshot records only what is visible, scroll and capture further sections if needed. For a long page that should remain readable as a document, Chrome’s direct print-to-PDF route is often more practical.

If the café computer blocks the steps
- Snipping Tool or its shortcut is unavailable: the utility or keyboard shortcut may be restricted. Ask staff whether there is an approved way to capture the screen; do not install screenshot software on a shared computer.
- Save as PDF is missing: the machine may not offer that destination. Ask staff which permitted print or save workflow is available; general Chrome instructions cannot establish what a particular café has configured.
- You cannot save to the chosen folder: a folder may be locked or writable only by an administrator. Ask staff for an approved location rather than trying to bypass controls.
- No USB or removable-media access: café policy may restrict it. Ask before connecting a drive or transferring a file.
- The PDF is blank, incomplete, or hard to read: reopen the page or image, verify the correct content is visible, adjust print settings if available, save again, and open the new file to check it.
Find the PDF and leave the shared computer clean
Chrome’s documented default download location on Windows is the current user’s Downloads folder, but the location can be changed or Chrome can be set to ask where each file should go. A café may configure storage differently, so use only an approved location and note the filename long enough to check the result. See Chrome Help on download locations.
Treat a cyber café computer as public and shared. The Ministry of Tourism’s 2023 IT-security guidance says, “Don’t enter sensitive information into a public computer,” and advises users to log out when leaving a cyber café. The National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal’s online safety tips similarly advise against sensitive browsing on public computers and cyber cafés because data could be stolen or copied. For this task, avoid signing in to accounts or capturing private information if you can.

- Log out of any account you used and close your browser session.
- Delete downloaded personal documents when finished if café rules allow it. If deletion is blocked or the folder is locked, ask staff for help; do not bypass restrictions.
- Follow staff instructions for saving, removing, or transferring the PDF. USB availability, writable folders, screenshot tools, and PDF destinations vary by café.
