Its documentation describes URL conversion for publicly reachable pages and raw HTML input, but does not document importing your browser login or session cookies. For a page you are authorized to view, open it while signed in and use your browser’s Print command, then choose Save as PDF. Html2Pdf.app may work when you can provide the rendered HTML yourself, but that does not extract a third-party page behind a login.
Can Html2Pdf.app convert a password-protected webpage?
Not by simply submitting the URL, according to the service’s documentation. It describes URL input as a publicly reachable page or accepts raw HTML markup. It does not describe signing in to a site, importing browser cookies, or transferring an existing session. A URL that loads only in your signed-in browser should therefore not be expected to work in the converter. The documentation’s silence does not establish that no private integration exists; it means the public instructions do not establish support for this workflow.

The online converter described on the Html2Pdf.app homepage is for public webpage URLs. Its availability without an API key does not imply that it can access your private, logged-in content.
Save the page yourself with your browser
For a page you are allowed to access, printing from the same browser session is the simplest route: the browser can use the login you already have without giving your password or session cookie to a conversion service. Menu labels and keyboard shortcuts vary by browser and operating system.

- Sign in to the website and open the page you want to save.
- Open the browser’s Print command. On many desktop browsers, this is under the browser menu or available with Ctrl+P on Windows/Linux or Command+P on macOS.
- In the print dialog, choose a PDF destination such as “Save as PDF.” The exact label depends on your browser and operating system.
- Review the print preview before saving. Check that the page includes the images and sections you need and that page breaks do not cut off important content.
- Save the PDF and open it to confirm the result.
When Html2Pdf.app’s API can help
The API is relevant if the page is publicly reachable or you already have HTML that you are authorized to submit. It does not provide a documented way to retrieve a logged-in page from your browser. If the site owner can supply the rendered HTML, raw HTML input may be an option; that is different from extracting another site’s private page.
Documented API request
Html2Pdf.app documents a POST request to https://api.html2pdf.app/v1/generate authenticated with an X-API-Key header. Follow its documentation for the request body and response format; the material available here does not establish a complete runnable payload or response-handling example. Keep the API key in backend code, a server-side script, or a trusted job—not in browser JavaScript, public repositories, or client-side templates. The service’s instruction is: “Your API key is private. Use it from your backend, server-side scripts, or trusted jobs.”

Rendering controls are not login controls
The documented waitFor setting can wait from 0 to 10 seconds for JavaScript or asynchronous resources. The media option selects print or screen CSS rendering. These can affect how a page renders, but they do not authenticate to a website or transfer your browser session. The documentation also notes that available fonts and resources, CSS media mode, and JavaScript load timing can affect the output.

The userPassword setting encrypts the generated PDF, while ownerPassword controls PDF permissions. They protect the output file; they do not provide access to a password-protected source page. The vendor describes its PDF encryption as 128-bit AES.

Protect your login and sensitive content
- Do not give a personal website password or session cookie to an unverified converter.
- Keep an Html2Pdf.app API key server-side and out of public or client-side code.
- For sensitive pages, consider whether the content should be submitted to a third party at all. Html2Pdf.app says generated PDFs are processed temporarily and not permanently stored on its servers, while selected request metadata and a supplied source URL may be retained in conversion logs. Review its documentation, privacy policy, and data-processing terms before sending sensitive material.
Why a conversion may look wrong or fail
- The private URL does not convert: the documented URL input is a publicly reachable page; no browser-session or cookie import is documented. Use browser Print while signed in, or ask the page owner for rendered HTML if appropriate.
- JavaScript content is missing: asynchronous content may not have finished loading. For supported URL or HTML inputs, the documented
waitForsetting is 0–10 seconds; waiting may help rendering but cannot bypass a login. - Styles or page breaks differ: the
mediachoice and the fonts or resources available to the renderer can change appearance. Compare the generated PDF with the source and adjust the supported rendering settings. - The PDF is protected but the source page remains inaccessible:
