You can choose a notebook and add tags or a comment in the save panel. “Full Page” is the mode for keeping the page’s layout; choose an article mode if you mainly want readable text.
Save a full page with Evernote Web Clipper
- Install or enable Evernote Web Clipper in a supported desktop browser and sign in if asked. Evernote’s quick-start guide lists Chrome, Safari, and Firefox; support and settings can vary by browser, so check the current extension listing for your browser. Evernote Web Clipper quick start
- Open the webpage you want to save.
- Select the elephant icon in the browser toolbar. If it is hidden among extensions, pin Web Clipper to the toolbar.
- Choose Full Page from the clip-type controls.
- Optionally choose a notebook, add tags, or write a comment, then select Save Clip.
- Open the resulting note and check that it contains what you needed. If it does not, try a different clip type or Screenshot.
Choose the right clip type

Evernote lists these as default clip modes, though labels and available settings can vary somewhat by browser. Its settings also let you choose a default action and notebook destination. See Evernote Web Clipper settings.

When the clip is incomplete or unsuitable
- Switch among Full Page, Article, and Simplified Article; they capture different kinds of content.
- If preserving the appearance matters more than editable or article-like text, try Screenshot.
- Inspect the saved note rather than assuming every site will clip perfectly. Evernote’s troubleshooting guidance recommends trying another clip type and Screenshot where appropriate. Evernote Web Clipper troubleshooting
Web Clipper’s screenshot mode is a visual capture, distinct from the page and article clipping modes. Do not rely on it as an editable-text copy.

Microsoft’s OneNote Web Clipper documentation describes Full Page as capturing the current page as a screenshot image in a notebook. That may suit someone already organizing notes in OneNote, but it is a visual capture and should not be treated as equivalent to Evernote’s page-format clip. Microsoft OneNote Web Clipper
