In FireShot, choose Capture entire Page and…, then select the save action and choose PNG as the document type in the save dialog. The full-page option captures content beyond the visible screen; the visible-area option does not.
Save a full-page screenshot as PNG
- Open the webpage in a browser where FireShot is installed.
- Open FireShot from the browser toolbar or menu. The main red “S” button runs the default action; use its adjacent arrow, the main menu, or the page context menu to choose a different capture action.
- Select Capture entire Page and…. Do not select Capture visible Area and… if you need content below the current viewport.
- Choose the save action. In the save dialog, select PNG as the document type.
- Choose or confirm the destination, then save. Open the resulting image and check that it includes the page through the intended end.
FireShot’s guide says you can configure whether it asks for a destination folder each time or saves captures to one location. Menu labels and browser controls may vary by release; the guide dates to 2016, so its screenshots may not match the current interface exactly. FireShot usage guide

Choose the capture area and file format
FireShot separates what you capture from how you save it. For a long page, choose the entire-page action; PNG is the output format to select in the save dialog. The visible-area action captures only what is on screen, while a selected-area action is for a chosen portion. FireShot also lists formats including PDF, JPEG, GIF, and BMP. Does full-page PNG require FireShot Pro?
The reviewed official guide describes free and Pro versions, and the Chrome Web Store listing presents full-page capture and PNG saving. Those sources do not establish that this workflow always requires Pro. Check the options available in your installed browser build rather than assuming an upgrade is necessary. The current Chrome listing reports version 2.1.4.18, updated 24 May 2026; that information applies to the Chrome listing, not necessarily other browser editions.

When a capture is incomplete
The standard workflow is documented, but the available official material does not establish a universal fix for incomplete captures. Pages with dynamically loaded content, infinite scrolling, or restrictions on extension capture can behave differently.
- Only the visible screen appears: run the entire-page capture action, not the visible-area action.
- The PNG option is not apparent: use FireShot’s save action and inspect the document-type choices in its save dialog.
- Content near the bottom is missing: check whether the page loads more content as you scroll, then try again after the needed content has loaded. Results may remain page- or browser-specific.
- Controls differ from the guide: open the extension’s current menu or toolbar controls; the vendor guide is older than the current Chrome listing.
