To save a FireShot capture as a PDF, open the webpage, start FireShot, choose whether to capture the whole page, the visible area, or a selection, then use Save and select PDF. The exact button labels and PDF layout options can vary by browser, operating system, and FireShot edition.
Save a FireShot capture as a PDF
- Open the webpage you want to capture. Start FireShot from its toolbar button, browser menu, or the page’s context menu. The usage guide says the toolbar’s default action is typically Capture entire webpage and Edit, though your installation may differ. FireShot usage guide
- Choose the capture scope: Entire page for content below the current screen, Visible area for what is currently displayed, or Selected area to capture a chosen region. FireShot product page Usage guide
- When the capture opens in the editor or action flow, select Save or the direct save-to-PDF action offered by your version.
- In the save dialog, choose PDF, set the filename and destination if prompted, and save. FireShot’s guide says the dialog supports choosing the document type and destination-folder behavior. FireShot usage guide
- Open the resulting PDF and check that it contains the intended content and layout before sharing or printing it.
Choose the right capture and PDF layout
Capture scope
- Entire page: Captures content beyond the visible viewport, useful for a long article or page. Review the result for missing or awkwardly captured content.
- Visible area: Captures only what is on screen at the moment of capture.
- Selected area: Captures a region you choose, rather than the complete page.

Single long page or split pages
A saved screenshot PDF preserves the captured appearance; it is not automatically a print-optimized, reflowable web document. FireShot’s Chrome listing describes PDF saving, while identifying single-page and split-page options among upgrade features. Some advanced PDF controls may require Pro, and feature availability can vary by browser or edition. If you need conventional paper-size pagination, inspect the generated pages before relying on the file. A FireShot support reply from April 2018 discussed using the print option with a PDF printer for paper-size splitting; that is historical advice, not definitive guidance for current versions. What to expect from the PDF
FireShot describes PDF output as a saved screenshot or capture. Its product page and Chrome listing describe links and searchable text in PDF, but these are vendor feature claims; they do not guarantee that text will be searchable or links will work for every webpage. Common problems and fixes
- You cannot find PDF in the save flow: Look for a Save or Save as PDF action in your version’s editor or action menu. FireShot’s usage guide documents PDF as a document type, but the path and labels can vary. Usage guide
- The PDF is one very long page or breaks in the wrong places: Check whether your installation offers single-page or split-page controls; some advanced layout options are identified as upgrade features. Open the saved file to verify pagination. Chrome listing
- The file saved somewhere unexpected: Check the save dialog’s destination setting and the browser’s download location. The usage guide documents destination-folder behavior in the Save dialog. Usage guide
- Part of the page is missing: Confirm that you selected Entire page rather than Visible area or Selected area, then capture again and inspect the result.
- Text is not searchable or links do not work: Treat these as page- and output-dependent properties; test the file and use another export route if the PDF must support them reliably.
