Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →To save a Chromium webpage as a conventional PDF, use Chromium’s print-to-PDF function. To preserve the page as a screenshot, capture it as an image first, then convert that image to PDF. These are different outputs: Chromium’s headless options write either a screenshot image or a print-layout PDF.
Choose the PDF you actually need
| Goal | Use | What the output represents |
|---|---|---|
| A document-style webpage PDF | Print to PDF | The page rendered using print layout; it is not a screenshot of the pixels on screen. |
| A PDF that preserves screenshot appearance | Capture an image, then convert it to PDF | The screenshot image placed in a PDF. The conversion step depends on your operating system or document software. |
Chrome documents these as separate headless operations: --screenshot saves an image, while --print-to-pdf saves a PDF. Its documentation does not establish a cross-platform image-to-PDF menu sequence.

Save a webpage directly as a PDF with Chromium
For a normal paginated document, use Chromium’s print function. In a visible browser, open the page’s print interface and choose a PDF destination if available; exact labels and steps vary by browser build and operating system. Review the preview, then adjust orientation, margins, scale, or page range where the print interface offers those controls.
For a command-line capture, Chrome’s documented headless command is:
#1 Best Overall
- CRISP CLARITY: This 23.8″ Philips V line monitor delivers crisp Full HD 1920x1080 visuals. Enjoy movies, shows and videos with remarkable detail
- INCREDIBLE CONTRAST: The VA panel produces brighter whites and deeper blacks. You get true-to-life images and more gradients with 16.7 million colors
- THE PERFECT VIEW: The 178/178 degree extra wide viewing angle prevents the shifting of colors when viewed from an offset angle, so you always get consistent colors
- WORK SEAMLESSLY: This sleek monitor is virtually bezel-free on three sides, so the screen looks even bigger for the viewer. This minimalistic design also allows for seamless multi-monitor setups that enhance your workflow and boost productivity
- A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents
chrome --headless --print-to-pdf https://developer.chrome.com/
This writes output.pdf to the current working directory. To omit print headers and footers, use the current documented flag:
chrome --headless --print-to-pdf --no-pdf-header-footer https://developer.chrome.com/
Older Chromium versions may instead require --print-to-pdf-no-header. The documentation identifies --no-pdf-header-footer as the current form; if an older build rejects it, check that build’s supported options.

Wait for content before capture
For either headless screenshot or PDF capture, --timeout sets the maximum wait before capture, even if the page is still loading. For example:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
chrome --headless --timeout=5000 --print-to-pdf https://developer.chrome.com/
The documented example uses 5,000 milliseconds; choose a wait appropriate to the page rather than assuming every site finishes rendering at the same speed. Check the resulting PDF, especially when content is loaded asynchronously.
Rank #3
- Clear visuals. Fluid motion: A 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT deliver smooth, tear‑free motion across work, gaming, and streaming for clearer, more fluid viewing.
- Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star* certification reduces harmful blue light while preserving stunning color quality without compromise. *TÜV Rheinland 3-star eye comfort certification.
- Wide viewing angle: Get consistent views across a wide 178° /178° viewing angle.
- In-Plane Switching (IPS): See excellent color accuracy and consistency across wide viewing angles with In-plane Switching (IPS) technology.
- Ultra-thin bezels: Maximize your viewing experience with thin bezels.
Make a screenshot-style PDF
First create the screenshot image. Chrome documents this example:
chrome --headless --screenshot --window-size=412,892 https://developer.chrome.com/
The command saves screenshot.png in the current working directory. The window-size option controls the capture viewport in the example; it does not establish that the result is a full-page image. If you need the entire page rather than the visible viewport, verify that your chosen capture method supports full-page capture.
Rank #4
- CURVED FOR ENHANCED ENGAGEMENT: An immersive viewing experience with a curved monitor that wraps more closely around your field of vision; It creates a wider view, enhancing depth perception and minimizing peripheral distraction
- SMOOTH PERFORMANCE FOR SEAMLESS CONTENT: Stay in the action when playing games, watching videos, or working on creative projects; The 100Hz refresh rate reduces lag and motion blur so you don't miss a thing in fast-paced moments¹
- MORE GAMING POWER: Gain the edge with optimizable game settings; Color and image contrast can be adjusted to see scenes more vividly and spot enemies hiding in the dark; Game Mode adjusts any game to fill the screen so you can view every detail²
- KEEP IT EASY ON THE EYES: Care for your eyes and stay comfortable, even during long sessions; Advanced eye comfort technology certified by TÜV reduces eye strain by minimizing blue light and reducing irritating screen flicker²
- INCREASED VERSATILITY: Connect to more; Plug devices straight into your monitor for increased flexibility, making your computing environment even more convenient
Next, use an image-to-PDF function in your operating system or document software to place the image in a PDF and save it. The precise controls depend on that software; there is no verified universal Windows, macOS, or Linux menu path here. A screenshot-derived PDF may be a single image page, while print-to-PDF normally lays content out across document pages.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. For an image capture, make one GET request; this example saves the returned WebP response:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://developer.chrome.com/ -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options. Its clean-shot workflow accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for AI agents and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chromium’s print-to-PDF create a screenshot?
No. It creates a PDF using print layout. For screenshot pixels inside a PDF, capture an image and convert that image to PDF.
Does –window-size make a headless screenshot full-page?
The documented example controls the capture viewport; it does not by itself establish full-page capture.
