To save a CBSE webpage as a PDF on a Mac, open it in Safari, press Command-P, then choose PDF > Save as PDF. Select a filename and location, save, and open the file to check that the page printed as expected. You do not need a printer or a separate PDF app.
Save the CBSE page as a PDF in Safari
- Open the CBSE webpage in Safari and wait for its content to load.
- Check whether the page has an official PDF download for the material you need. CBSE links to multiple portals, so availability depends on the specific page.
- If there is no suitable official download, press Command-P. You can also choose File > Print.
- Inspect the print preview, including the page count and layout. Check that the text, tables, and graphics you need are present.
- Open the PDF menu and choose Save as PDF.
- Enter a filename, choose where to save the file, and save it. Open the saved PDF to verify its contents.
This is Apple’s documented print-to-PDF workflow. The result uses the webpage’s print rendering, so a page may not look exactly like it does in the browser. See Apple’s Safari guide for the webpage saving options it documents.

Screenshot or PDF: choose the right result

| Screenshot | The full screen or a selected area | An image, useful for preserving a visible result or a portion of a form. A selected view may leave out the rest of a long page. |
| Print to PDF | The page as laid out for printing | A paginated PDF, usually a better choice for a readable record of a longer webpage. |
A screenshot does not automatically turn an entire long webpage into a paginated document. If you need a PDF, use the print dialog and check the preview and saved file.

Take a Mac screenshot instead
- Press Shift-Command-3 to capture the whole screen.
- Press Shift-Command-4 to select an area.
- Press Shift-Command-5 to open Screenshot controls.
Screenshots normally save to the desktop; the Screenshot controls let you change the save location. These shortcuts create images, not a print-to-PDF document. Apple’s instructions are in its Mac screenshot guide.

If the PDF is blank or incomplete
- Blank or missing content: Reload the CBSE page, wait for its contents to finish loading, then print again and inspect the preview.
- Awkward page breaks or missing graphics: Check the preview and the saved PDF. The output depends on how that particular page renders for printing.
- A direct PDF is available: Use the official download if it contains the material you need; it may avoid print-layout problems.
- The page will not save through Safari’s Save As: Safari’s documented File > Save As choices are Web Archive and Page Source, not PDF. Use File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF for a PDF. Apple notes that some webpages may prevent saving items displayed on them.
The exact CBSE page, browser version, and macOS release are unspecified, so its download availability and print layout cannot be guaranteed in advance. Verify the saved file before relying on it.
