If your banking app blocks screenshots, use a record the bank provides instead: check the transaction for a receipt or share/export option, download a statement through online banking, or ask the bank through an official support channel. There is no safe, ordinary phone setting that overrides the app’s security restriction, and bypass tools are not an appropriate workaround.
Why the banking app blocks screenshots
Android: prevention with FLAG_SECURE
On Android, an app can mark a screen as secure with FLAG_SECURE. Android says this prevents screenshots and stops the protected window from appearing on a non-secure display, such as a TV or projector; it describes the flag as useful for apps handling sensitive information, including banking apps. Screenshot detection is a separate capability. Android 14 introduced an API that lets an app detect a screenshot, but detection by itself is not the same as preventing protected content from appearing in one. FLAG_SECURE is the documented prevention mechanism.

iPhone and iPad: app-side capture handling
On iOS and iPadOS, Apple documents APIs that let apps detect scene capture, including screen recording, mirroring, and remote-control capture. An app can respond by hiding or redacting sensitive fields or disabling higher-risk actions. That documentation does not mean every banking app blocks an ordinary iPhone or iPad screenshot in the same way; the behavior depends on how the individual app handles capture. What to do instead
- Check the transaction details. Open the transaction in the bank app and look for a receipt, share, or export control. These options vary by bank and app, so they may not be available for every transaction.
- Look in online banking for an official record. Sign in through the bank’s website or app and check whether you can download a transaction receipt or account statement. A statement may be better when you need a record covering multiple transactions.
- Contact the bank if you cannot find the record. Use the support route listed in the bank’s official app or website, or send a secure message if that feature is available. Ask for a receipt or other record for the transaction.
- For a disputed transaction, use the bank’s dispute process. Request documentation through the bank’s official support or dispute channel rather than relying on a screenshot.
Why not use a screenshot-bypass tool?
Google Play requires apps to respect another app’s FLAG_SECURE setting and says apps must not facilitate or create workarounds to bypass it. Google Play Console Help: Protect your app and fight abuse with security flags FLAG_SECURE and REQUIRE_SECURE_ENV. Avoid capture utilities, modified apps, or device modifications intended to defeat the bank’s restriction. They undermine the protection the bank chose and are not a substitute for a bank-issued record.
Protect your account information when sharing proof
Share transaction records only through channels you trust, such as the bank’s official dispute process or a secure message. Do not post a statement or transaction details in a public forum: documents can reveal account information, balances, or other sensitive data. If you need to provide a record to someone else, ask the bank what document is appropriate and whether sensitive details can be redacted.

The available steps depend on the bank, device, region, and app version. To identify the right path, you would need to specify the bank and app name and whether you use Android or iPhone/iPad. Until then, treat receipts, export controls, statements, and secure messaging as options to check—not features every bank guarantees.
