Yes. Run two independent encoder jobs on the remote server, each playing its own prerecorded video and sending it to a separate YouTube Live event with that event’s server URL and stream key. YouTube documents a limit of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key, so two simultaneous feeds fit within those limits if other broadcasts are not using the channel’s remaining capacity. YouTube’s streaming guidance and encoder setup instructions describe the underlying workflow.
How the two-stream setup works
A remote server runs two separate encoder processes. Each process reads one video file and sends its feed to the matching YouTube event. The feeds should have distinct event configurations; do not reuse a key or URL by mistake.

- Feed A: prerecorded file A → encoder job A → YouTube event A.
- Feed B: prerecorded file B → encoder job B → YouTube event B.
YouTube treats stream keys as credentials that identify the feed an encoder sends. Keep each event’s server URL and key paired with the intended file and label the configurations clearly. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain where to find and configure these details.

Confirm live streaming is enabled
Before configuring the server, confirm the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and the channel has no live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Account for simultaneous streams
YouTube’s published limits are 10 active streams per channel and three active streams per stream key. Two feeds are within those limits when each uses its own event configuration, provided other active broadcasts have not already consumed the channel’s capacity. The channel limit applies across broadcasts, not just the two jobs on this server. Check YouTube’s current streaming limits and options before scheduling additional streams.
Set up two YouTube Live events
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule the first live event. Repeat for the second event so each prerecorded program has its own destination.
- Open each event in Live Control Room. Copy that event’s stream URL and stream key from its streaming settings.
- Label the configurations with the event name and the corresponding video file. Store keys securely: anyone with a key may be able to send a feed to its associated event.
- Configure one encoder job per event. Put event A’s URL and key only in job A, and event B’s URL and key only in job B.
Exact interface labels can change, so use the event’s Live Control Room settings rather than relying on a saved key from another broadcast. YouTube’s stream configuration guide describes the server URL and key workflow.

Run one encoder job per prerecorded video
On the remote server, start two independent processes or services. Each should read its own file and send a continuous encoded output to its corresponding event. The official YouTube guidance describes encoder-to-event setup, but does not prescribe a two-file command, FFmpeg invocation, operating system, process supervisor, or container arrangement. Select an encoder and verify its current documentation for exact commands and looping behavior.

The server and its network connection must sustain both encoded feeds at the same time. Capacity depends on the chosen video settings, whether the jobs encode or simply pass through already suitable media, and the server’s available CPU and outbound network capacity. YouTube’s guidance recommends checking upload capacity, but does not specify a universal server size, CPU count, memory amount, or bandwidth figure for this workload. Do not assume a server adequate for one job will handle two without testing.

Make the jobs recoverable
Use the server or process manager’s monitoring and restart controls where available, and monitor each job separately. A restart should return the correct file to the correct event; test what happens after a process interruption before relying on unattended operation. The suitable supervisor and recovery configuration depend on the operating system and encoder you choose.
Choose reliable output settings for both feeds
- Transport: Prefer RTMPS when supported by your encoder. YouTube recommends it as the secure extension of RTMP. Read YouTube’s encoder-settings guidance.
- Video codec: YouTube’s guidance lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 options. Confirm that your selected encoder and event workflow support the codec you choose.
- Frame rate: YouTube’s settings guidance supports frame rates up to 60 fps. Match the output to the source and the planned event settings.
- Keyframes: Use YouTube’s recommended two-second keyframe interval and do not exceed four seconds.
- Rate control: Use constant bitrate (CBR), as YouTube recommends. Choose a bitrate appropriate to each output’s resolution and frame rate rather than blindly using the same value for both.
- Resolution and bitrate: Match each encoder output to the resolution and bitrate planned for that event. The two jobs together must fit the server’s encoding capacity and sustained outbound capacity.
These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular server or encoder can produce two stable feeds. Test the actual files and settings on the selected host.

Preflight both broadcasts before going live
- Start job A and job B with enough time to inspect both feeds before the scheduled start.
- In each event’s Live Control Room, confirm the preview shows the intended video and that it is attached to the correct event.
- Check stream health and watch for warnings or interruptions on both events independently.
- Inspect audio and video on each preview; confirm audio is present and in sync, and that the picture is not frozen, cropped unexpectedly, or black.
- Open each event’s public or unlisted watch page and verify that it is the intended event before sharing or relying on it.
- Keep monitoring both feeds during the broadcast. A healthy preview for one job does not establish that the other job is healthy.
YouTube recommends testing the stream and monitoring preview and quality. Its encoder guidance provides the official setup context.
Common problems and what to check
- The wrong video appears in an event: Check the file-to-job mapping and verify that each job contains the matching event URL and key.
- One event receives no feed: Check whether its encoder process is running, whether its URL and key were copied correctly, and whether the event is configured to receive that stream.
- Both jobs work separately but fail together: Investigate shared resource limits—especially CPU during encoding and sustained outbound network capacity. Test both at once; YouTube does not publish a universal server-sizing formula for two feeds.
- Preview or stream health reports a problem: Compare the job’s output with YouTube’s recommendations for RTMPS, codec, keyframe interval, and CBR, then inspect the encoder’s logs and the event preview.
- Live streaming is unavailable: Recheck verification, enablement, and channel restrictions. If this is the channel’s first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- A feed stops after an interruption: Check the process status and restart behavior, then verify the preview again. Configure and test monitoring or process recovery on the server rather than assuming a dropped job will resume itself.
Keep prerecorded content eligible and safe to stream
Having a technically valid feed does not grant rights to the video or guarantee that it complies with YouTube policies. Use content you own or are authorized to broadcast, including music and other material embedded in the recording. Before scheduling, review YouTube’s copyright guidance and monetization policies, especially if the channel relies on monetization. A live-streaming restriction can also affect eligibility, as described in YouTube’s account requirements.
