For identical content, YouTube’s Live Streaming API supports one incoming stream bound to multiple broadcasts, so you send one encoded feed. For different content, use a separate stream and output for each broadcast, then confirm that your PC’s encoder capacity and sustained upload can handle both.
Choose the right setup: same loop or different loops
Both broadcasts show the same video
YouTube’s Live Streaming API supports binding one incoming live stream to multiple broadcasts. Its example uses a 24/7 feed and a second broadcast showing a subset of that feed. Both broadcasts receive the same incoming content; this does not create a second, independently chosen loop. See YouTube’s Live Streaming API guide.

In this arrangement, create the required broadcast resources, bind both to the same incoming stream, and start one encoder output from the PC. The API documentation establishes this shared-stream architecture; it does not establish a specific YouTube Studio button or guarantee that a given account’s ordinary Studio workflow exposes it. Plan around the API approach rather than assuming a particular interface is available.
The broadcasts show different videos
Create a distinct YouTube stream resource for each broadcast and configure a separate encoder output for each. YouTube’s API guide describes separate streams when simultaneous broadcasts need distinct settings. One shared incoming feed cannot carry two different loop videos at once.

The PC must source or play both videos, keep both outputs active, encode them as configured, and sustain their combined upload traffic. Those are practical consequences of running two independent outputs, not a universal hardware specification: the load depends on the computer, codec, encoder, source material, and other work running on it.
Set YouTube’s recommended 4K60 encoder settings
YouTube’s current live encoder guidance, checked in 2026, lists these settings for a 4K/2160p stream at up to 60 fps. Choose a stable quality your connection can sustain; the minimum bitrates are not quality targets. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.
| Setting | YouTube guidance for each stream |
|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 4K / 2160p at 60 fps |
| Recommended bitrate, AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 35 Mbps |
| Minimum bitrate, AV1 or H.265/HEVC | 10 Mbps |
| Recommended bitrate, H.264 | 50 Mbps |
| Minimum bitrate, H.264 | 14 Mbps |
| Rate control | CBR |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds |
| Ingestion protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; 128 Kbps stereo recommended |
For two independent streams at YouTube’s recommended video bitrates, plan for about 70 Mbps of combined video upload with AV1/HEVC, or 100 Mbps with H.264, before adding practical network headroom. These totals are arithmetic from YouTube’s per-stream recommendations, not separate YouTube recommendations. Audio and other traffic also use bandwidth. Test sustained upload rather than relying only on a plan’s advertised speed; if the connection cannot sustain the selected total, reduce the target or reconsider sending both feeds from that connection.

YouTube says it will automatically detect which encoder settings you chose. It transcodes incoming live video into different formats for viewers, but your PC still needs to deliver a stable ingest at the selected source resolution and frame rate. At 4K/2160p, YouTube’s guidance says low-latency optimization is unavailable, so the stream uses normal latency.
Configure one or two outputs
For one identical feed
- Set up the two broadcast resources and one incoming stream using YouTube’s Live Streaming API workflow.
- Bind both broadcasts to that same incoming stream, following the API guide. Confirm that sharing the same video and stream settings is acceptable for both broadcasts.
- Configure your encoder for one 4K60 output using the settings above, then send it to the shared incoming stream over RTMPS where supported.
- Start the encoder output and verify that both broadcasts receive the same content. Test before scheduling a public loop.
For two different feeds
- Create a separate YouTube stream resource for each broadcast using the API workflow.
- Assign each broadcast its own stream and configure the correct stream key or ingest destination in the corresponding encoder output. Keep the keys associated with the intended broadcast; do not swap them.
- Configure both outputs for their intended resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, CBR, keyframe interval, audio, and RTMPS destination.
- Start both outputs and confirm each broadcast shows the correct loop, audio, and stream health before relying on them unattended.
The exact interface for creating API resources depends on the workflow you use; the cited API guide describes the architecture, not a universal Studio UI sequence. Do not assume an account-specific control is available without checking your own YouTube setup.
Check PC encoder capacity and upload before going live
There is no defensible universal CPU, GPU, or RAM minimum for this task without knowing whether the loops are identical, the codec, encoder, source complexity, and the rest of the workload. A shared feed requires one encode. Two distinct feeds require two live outputs and may require more encoding capacity. A hardware encoder is a practical starting point for testing two separate feeds if your PC has one, but it is not a guarantee that the machine can sustain them.

OBS notes that the stream connection goes directly from your computer to the streaming service; it does not relay the video through OBS servers. OBS recommends its Auto-Configuration Wizard for basic settings and provides guidance for choosing an encoder. For two outputs, test the precise configuration you intend to run and watch for encoder overload and dropped frames. See OBS encoding performance troubleshooting.

Encoder capabilities vary by GPU model and workload. NVIDIA’s January 30, 2025 guide says some then-current GPU models provide dual or triple encoders for more simultaneous encodes; that does not mean all GPUs have this capability or that every two-output setup needs separate encoder blocks. NVIDIA’s codec recommendations are specific to supported hardware, not universal rules. Check your exact model’s support and test both outputs under load. See NVIDIA’s broadcasting guide.

Run a representative test
Before a scheduled loop, run a private, unlisted, or otherwise appropriate test broadcast. YouTube recommends testing before going live and using representative motion and audio. Check outgoing bitrate, frame rate, audio, and YouTube’s stream-health indicators while both outputs are running if you will use two. Its health documentation includes warnings such as low bitrate, frame-rate mismatch, no audio, and video ingestion starvation. See YouTube stream health troubleshooting and YouTube live stream health API documentation.

Common symptoms and fixes
- Low bitrate or buffering: Compare actual sustained upload with the combined target, including headroom. Reduce bitrate or run fewer independent outputs if the connection cannot sustain the load.
- Dropped frames or unstable connection: OBS connects directly to YouTube, so check the PC’s upload path, router or network link, and connection stability. Retest at the intended settings rather than assuming a server in the middle will fix a weak local path.
- Encoder overload: Check OBS or encoder performance while both distinct outputs run. Reduce output demands or use a supported hardware encoder if available; verify the particular hardware and configuration again with a sustained test.
- Frame-rate mismatch: Confirm the source and output are configured consistently for 60 fps and that the PC can maintain that frame rate. Review YouTube’s health warning and retest.
- No audio: Check the selected audio source and that each output includes the intended track; use a representative test with audible content.
- Wrong content on one broadcast: For independent loops, check that each encoder output points to its own intended stream resource or key. For a shared stream, both broadcasts receive the same incoming feed by design.
- Video ingestion starvation: Check that the encoder is still sending data and that the source playback and connection have not stalled, then verify stream health again.
Respect copyright and YouTube channel rules
Having permission to upload a video does not automatically answer every question about a long-running live broadcast. Before looping music, performances, or other third-party material, confirm that your rights cover the content and the intended live use. Review YouTube’s current copyright safety checklist as a practical preflight. Separately, make sure a repetitive or reused-content channel meets YouTube’s current monetization and other channel policies; technical ability to stream continuously does not establish policy eligibility.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded video looping on YouTube without leaving this PC running, StreamNeo runs the stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than quality tiers; YouTube-drop recovery is automatic. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for uploaded videos streamed to YouTube, not camera broadcasts.
