What you need before starting
- A verified YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, and a channel must have no live-stream restrictions in the past 90 days. Check the current eligibility and setup details in YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- A video file or playlist you have the rights to stream, plus an encoder. YouTube supports both software encoders running on a computer and standalone hardware encoders; dedicated hardware is optional.
- A JioFiber connection with enough stable upload capacity for your chosen stream settings. The number that matters is sustained upload performance where the encoder is connected, not the plan’s headline download speed.
- A way to monitor YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room preview and stream health during setup and transmission.
Plan the loop and decide whether you need an archive
Choose session length around replay needs
A loop can continue for a long time, but a 24/7 broadcast and a saved replay are separate requirements. YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a replay, plan shorter sessions below that limit, end each one deliberately, and confirm that its archive appears before relying on it. Check YouTube’s current archive guidance before scheduling a long-running broadcast.

Check rights for both live and replay use
Use only video and audio you are authorized to broadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for live and archived content, including music licensing rights where applicable. Confirm that your license covers the live stream, the relevant territories, and any replay or archive you intend to leave available.

Measure JioFiber upload capacity and choose a safe bitrate
Test the actual connection you will stream from
Run an upload speed test from the streaming computer at the intended broadcast time. Repeat it under typical household conditions, including other devices using the connection. A test is a snapshot, not a guarantee of stable throughput throughout a session; JioFiber performance can vary by location, time, Wi-Fi conditions, router, and competing network use.

Jio’s prepaid comparison lists symmetrical upload and download tiers including 30 Mbps, 100 Mbps, and 150 Mbps, but plan terms can change and the listed rate does not establish what your home will sustain. Verify your current plan and terms on Jio’s plan comparison. Set the encoder conservatively
Choose a total bitrate below the sustained upload rate you measured, keeping YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom for fluctuations and other household traffic. Count the full outgoing stream bitrate, including audio, rather than treating video bitrate as the only network load. If the connection shows drops or inconsistent results, reduce bitrate and, if needed, resolution until the feed is stable. There is no single JioFiber bitrate that is safe for every household or plan.

Use the resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate combination supported by your encoder and YouTube’s current recommendations. The available evidence does not establish a specific OBS preset or an encoder configuration for every JioFiber setup, so validate the settings with a realistic test rather than assuming a particular combination will work.
Set up and start the YouTube Live loop
- Enable live streaming in advance. Verify the channel and complete YouTube’s live-stream enablement steps. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement to become available.
- Create or select a stream. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a stream or choose the existing stream you intend to use. Follow the current interface to obtain the stream URL and stream key. YouTube’s encoder guide describes the encoder workflow.
- Configure your encoder. In the software or hardware encoder, select the YouTube-compatible protocol and enter the stream URL and key. Set the planned video and audio format and conservative bitrate based on your measured upload capacity.
- Keep the key private. Treat the stream key like a password; anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your stream. YouTube explains stream-key management and resetting in Manage live stream settings. Reset the key if you believe it has been exposed.
- Load the recording or playlist. Configure the encoder or playback workflow to repeat the intended program. Confirm that the file plays with the expected sound and motion, and that the loop resumes as intended when it reaches the end.
- Send a test feed and inspect it. Start the encoder, wait for the Live Control Room preview, and check picture, audio, and stream health before making the stream public. YouTube recommends testing with realistic content and monitoring the stream; see YouTube live streaming tips.
- Go live and keep watch. Start the broadcast through the Live Control Room workflow. Monitor stream health and the public viewer page, especially after changes to the network, playback source, or encoder settings.
- Verify the end state. If you ended a bounded session for an archive, confirm that the replay is available and plays correctly before treating it as a backup.
Keep the stream from failing silently
- Shared bandwidth: Downloads, video calls, game updates, and other household use can consume upload capacity. Pause nonessential traffic during a test and stream, or lower the encoder bitrate to preserve headroom.
- Unstable upload or Wi-Fi: A speed test may look adequate while the connection still fluctuates. Test at the encoder’s actual location, use a reliable wired connection if available, and reduce bitrate or resolution if stream health degrades.
- Encoder feed does not appear: Recheck that the correct stream URL and key are entered, the right stream is selected in Studio, and the encoder is sending via a supported protocol. Keep the key private; reset it if compromised.
- No preview or live access: Confirm live streaming is enabled and that the channel meets YouTube’s current eligibility requirements. A first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- Replay missing after a long broadcast: Streams beyond 12 hours may not be captured. For archive-dependent programming, use sessions under 12 hours and check each resulting archive.
- Copyright claim or interruption: Review the rights for every visual and audio element, including music, and confirm permissions cover live transmission and replay. Possessing a file does not by itself establish streaming rights.
Neither a JioFiber plan listing nor one successful test guarantees uninterrupted uptime. Power loss, router or ISP disruptions, household traffic, encoder failure, or a YouTube-side interruption can stop a DIY stream; plan monitoring and recovery accordingly.
