To keep an ASMR whisper archive live on YouTube, prepare a rights-cleared audio/video program, send it through an encoder such as OBS to YouTube Live Control Room, and monitor the feed. Prepare a whispering program you have the right to stream
Choose recordings you created or are authorized to use, then assemble the intended audio and visuals into a program. Rights clearance applies to the entire stream: music, ambient recordings, images, video, and other material—not just the whisper track.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream. An archived broadcast may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. YouTube puts it this way: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

For an archive intended to run continuously, decide how segments join and what viewers will see during transitions. Listen through the complete program before going live; check for abrupt volume changes, long accidental silences, clicks, and any private or unrelated audio. Do not assume a long loop is automatically suitable for monetization: YouTube’s policy identifies repetitive or mass-produced material as inauthentic content that may be ineligible. Make the work meaningfully original and review the current YouTube channel monetization policies.

Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s live-streaming help says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. The same page states a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance before scheduling; platform requirements can change.
Set up YouTube Live Control Room
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live broadcast. Use Live Control Room to enter a truthful title and description, choose a thumbnail and audience setting, and set visibility and archive preferences.
- Choose an encoder workflow. YouTube distinguishes the broadcast—the event and its metadata—from the stream that carries the audio and video. Select the encoder option and obtain the stream key in Live Control Room.
- Protect the stream key. Paste it only into your encoder’s YouTube streaming configuration. Treat it like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast. Do not show it in screenshots or share it publicly.
- Decide whether the broadcast should be archived. Public archived livestreams can count toward qualified public watch hours; livestreams that are not archived do not, according to YouTube’s watch-hours and YouTube Partner Program guidance. The applicable watch-hour rules depend on YouTube’s current eligibility terms.
Send the archive with OBS
YouTube supports encoder-based streaming, and OBS is one option. The exact OBS labels and media-loop controls can vary by installed version, so use the official OBS knowledge base for version-specific interface guidance rather than relying on a menu path that may have changed.

- Prepare the source. Add the prepared whisper program as the audio/video source in OBS. Confirm that the intended video and audio are routed to the stream, not merely audible on the local computer.
- Configure the YouTube destination. In OBS’s streaming settings, select the YouTube service and enter the stream key copied from Live Control Room. Keep the key private.
- Check the mix. Watch the OBS audio meters while the program plays. Listen for silence, clipping, uneven loudness, plosives, room noise, and unintended desktop or microphone audio. A microphone and preamp can be used in an encoder workflow, but YouTube’s guidance does not prescribe a particular ASMR microphone model.
- Run a controlled test. Start with a private or otherwise controlled broadcast, then check the preview in Live Control Room and listen to the stream itself. Verify that the image, whisper audio, and transitions behave as intended before sharing the public link.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Keep OBS, the computer, and the internet connection running. Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators and listen periodically; YouTube’s API documents stream health as a troubleshooting aid. The local setup depends on the encoder and connection remaining available, and uninterrupted service is not guaranteed.
Choose a local or cloud-run setup
A local encoder gives you direct control of the running program, but the computer and connection must stay on, and you are responsible for noticing and recovering from interruptions. A cloud service can keep an uploaded program running when your own computer is off. Compare options by who monitors and restarts the feed, how you update the media, what archive and rights controls you retain, and the verified total cost and terms. Do not treat a continuous loop as a substitute for rights clearance or YouTube’s monetization rules.
