You can add a YouTube Giving fundraiser to a scheduled YouTube live stream if your channel has access and the nonprofit meets YouTube’s separate requirements. Check both before building the campaign: YouTube currently lists 10,000 subscribers, YouTube Partner Program membership, an available location, and a channel not designated Made for Kids among creator criteria, while the beneficiary must be an eligible U.S. public charity.

YouTube lists these criteria for creators using YouTube Giving: the channel must be in a location where the feature is available, have at least 10,000 subscribers, be a YouTube Partner Program member, and not be designated Made for Kids. How to add a fundraiser to a scheduled live stream

Sign in to YouTube Studio and open Earn > Giving.

Select Get started, then Create a fundraiser.

Choose an available eligible nonprofit, or request that an eligible nonprofit be added.

Enter the fundraiser details, such as its title and description. You can also set suggested goal and duration details and add collaborators.

Add the scheduled live stream to the fundraiser. You can include videos or other scheduled streams as appropriate.

Make sure the correct scheduled stream is attached and the fundraiser’s start date has arrived. YouTube says the Donate button appears on the watch page or in chat once the fundraiser begins. A community fundraiser may include multiple eligible channels; its displayed total can combine activity across participating channels and videos, so do not treat the total as donations attributable to one stream unless your analytics show that. What viewers see when they donate

A public Live Chat Donation can show the donor’s account name and donation amount to the creator. Donors can choose not to make the donation public, so do not promise anonymity if they select public display. YouTube says, “100% of the money you donate will go to the nonprofit. YouTube also covers credit card transaction fees.” Network for Good collects and distributes contributions; YouTube’s FAQ says distributions are typically monthly, while totals under $10 are distributed annually. Donation processing may be non-refundable, and whether a donation is tax-deductible depends on the donor’s location. If YouTube Giving is unavailable
If your channel cannot use YouTube Giving, Google for Nonprofits suggests using a video end screen to link viewers to an external fundraiser, with GoFundMe and JustGiving named as examples of approved third-party fundraising sites. End screens appear during the last 5–20 seconds of a video. Before publishing, confirm the charity’s campaign URL and check current YouTube link policies and the fundraising platform’s rules. Does a charity live stream require special equipment?
YouTube’s fundraiser setup guidance does not require a particular webcam, microphone, lighting kit, or capture device. A computer-based live production may use a USB webcam as its camera source, but that is optional equipment, not a YouTube Giving requirement. YouTube describes live streams as real-time broadcasts with video; choose production gear based on how you plan to make the stream, not on the fundraiser feature itself.
