Short answer: StreamYard can schedule a pre-recorded devotional video to play once on YouTube, but its documented pre-recorded broadcasts have a finite length and end when the video finishes. The available StreamYard documentation does not establish a built-in playlist loop or a way to keep one broadcast running continuously for 24/7. You can use StreamYard for scheduled devotional programs; for genuinely continuous playback, you need a separate continuous-playout method or a service designed for that job.
What StreamYard can—and cannot—do for a 24/7 stream
StreamYard’s documented pre-recorded workflow schedules a selected video to start at a chosen time and end when that video is finished. Its listed maximum source-video lengths are plan-dependent:

These limits are listed in StreamYard Help Center documentation as accessed on October 3, 2026; check the current plan details before scheduling because limits can change. StreamYard also says paid plans have no streaming-hour limit on its end, but that statement does not extend an individual pre-recorded file or make it repeat. Its documentation does not establish playlist looping, gap-free transitions between scheduled videos, or whether successive broadcasts can remain one persistent YouTube live event. Do not treat a scheduled pre-recorded broadcast as a 24/7 loop.
StreamYard says pre-recorded streams can be scheduled up to 365 days in advance. That is a scheduling horizon, not a promise of continuous playback or unattended recovery.

Prepare your channel, music rights, and program
Confirm that YouTube Live is available
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Initial live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your intended launch. Check the channel’s live-stream status before building the schedule.
Clear the rights to every recording
Religious or devotional music is not automatically free to stream. Before broadcasting, obtain the rights needed for each composition and recording, including applicable publishing, sound-recording, and public-performance rights. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for the live content.

If you have permission to use third-party music, ask the rights holder to allowlist your YouTube channel in Content ID. YouTube warns that a live stream can still be interrupted by a Content ID match if the channel has not been allowlisted. Keep written permission and allowlisting confirmation with your program records; a license and a Content ID allowlist address different parts of the problem.

For a single scheduled StreamYard broadcast, make the devotional program no longer than the maximum for your plan. If you need a full day of continuous music, dividing it into multiple scheduled videos does not by itself solve continuity: the documentation does not establish seamless handoffs or one persistent event across broadcasts. Test the exact approach with the provider before advertising uninterrupted playback.

Schedule a finite pre-recorded devotional broadcast in StreamYard
- Prepare the video. Assemble the devotional program as a finished recording and confirm its duration fits your plan’s maximum. Check the audio from beginning to end, including the opening and ending, and confirm the program contains only material you are permitted to stream.
- Open the pre-recorded broadcast workflow. In StreamYard, create or upload a video, then choose Live Stream and Pre-recorded video.
- Select the YouTube destination. Choose the channel or destination for the broadcast. Confirm that the intended channel is connected and that YouTube Live is enabled for it.
- Set the date and time. Pick the scheduled start time and account for the audience’s time zone when announcing the program. StreamYard’s scheduling horizon is documented as up to 365 days ahead, but scheduling far in advance does not change the video’s maximum length.
- Enter the event details. Add the title, description, and other metadata shown in the setup screen. Make the description accurate about whether this is a scheduled finite program or part of a separately managed continuous stream.
- Create the broadcast and verify it. Review the destination, video, schedule, and metadata before creating the event. Check the scheduled event in YouTube and test the playback path before sharing it with viewers.
- Monitor the broadcast. At the scheduled time, confirm that it starts and that both picture and sound are present. The documented pre-recorded behavior is to start automatically at the scheduled time and end when the video finishes; plan for that ending rather than assuming it will repeat.
If you use a continuous encoder or playout setup
A genuinely continuous stream needs a playback-and-encoding layer capable of keeping the program going, plus a way to connect that output to the intended YouTube live event. The StreamYard pre-recorded documentation does not specify how an external continuous-playout system should connect to StreamYard, so verify the integration and handoff behavior with the provider or test your chosen setup separately. Do not assume that scheduling successive StreamYard videos creates a continuous encoder stream.
Use YouTube’s encoder guidance as a test baseline
- Use H.264 for video and AAC or MP3 for audio, with constant bitrate encoding, if those options are supported by your encoder.
- Set a two-second keyframe interval where possible; YouTube’s general encoder guidance says the interval should not exceed four seconds.
- Choose an output resolution and bitrate supported by the encoder and network, then validate them in a test stream. The published guidance cited here does not establish one universal bitrate for every resolution and setup, so do not copy a value without matching it to your encoder’s current YouTube settings.
- Use audio and motion similar to the devotional program during testing. A static title card alone will not reveal problems that occur during full-motion playback or sustained music.
- Check the Live Control Room preview before going live. Use reliable upload capacity with headroom rather than planning to consume all available upstream bandwidth.
- Keep the stream key private; YouTube describes it as similar to a password and an encoder address. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube’s live-stream settings and update the encoder using the replacement key.
Test recovery and monitoring before leaving it unattended
For a redundant encoder setup, YouTube recommends testing failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable and confirming that playback moves to the backup. A wired connection may help a particular setup, but purchasing an Ethernet cable is not a universal requirement. During the live run, check video and audio continuously, verify the event appears on the channel and watch pages, and check playback on a mobile device.

Understand live duration, archives, DVR, and recordings separately
A stream staying live, YouTube retaining an archive, and StreamYard making a recording are different outcomes. YouTube’s encoder instructions say encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. StreamYard’s destination guidance separately says YouTube records only the last 12 hours, while StreamYard’s own recording limits are listed as 10 hours on Core, Advanced, and Teams and 24 hours on Business, subject to available storage. These figures do not establish the archive behavior of a particular longer-running event or guarantee a full-length recording of a 24/7 stream.

Before launch, decide whether you need a live-only channel, a YouTube replay, or a separate retained recording. Confirm the applicable event length, archive, DVR, and recording behavior for the exact configuration. For a long-running stream, establish a restart and archive plan rather than assuming the event will remain one uninterrupted broadcast or that the complete program will be saved.
