Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteTo revoke a token approval left over after a presale, check the wallet address and every network you used, identify each token and spender, then submit an on-chain revoke transaction for allowances you no longer need. Disconnecting a site does not revoke an approval, and revocation costs gas.
What a token approval means—and what it does not
A token approval, also called an allowance, gives a smart contract permission to move a specified token from your wallet. It is separate from connecting your wallet to a website: disconnecting stops that site from using the wallet connection, but it does not remove an on-chain allowance. MetaMask explains the distinction.

A presale may involve a purchase contract, while claiming, swapping, or later trading tokens may involve other contracts. Do not assume that a connection created an allowance—or that a particular presale contract is the spender. Check your own transaction history and the token and spender shown by an approval checker.

How to find and revoke approvals
- Choose a checker or explorer. Start with the approval-management guidance and linked options from ethereum.org or the wallet and explorer options described by MetaMask. Type the official domain carefully or use a bookmark.
- Check the wallet address and network. Search your address or connect the wallet, then select each network used for the presale and any related claim, swap, or listing activity. Approval results are chain-specific; a clean result on one network says nothing about other networks.
- Inspect each entry. Review the token, spender or contract, and allowance amount. Compare these with your transaction history and decide whether you still need the permission. Avoid revoking an allowance used by an active position or a planned action.
- Submit the revoke transaction. For an ERC-20 token, revoking sets the allowance to zero; NFT approvals use a disabled or false approval state. Check the network and transaction details in your wallet before signing.
- Wait for confirmation and verify. Revocation is an on-chain transaction and incurs the network’s gas fee. After it confirms, refresh or reconnect the checker and confirm the allowance changed or disappeared.
- Repeat for each relevant network. If you later use the same token and contract again, you may need to approve it again.
Which approval-checking route should you use?
Wallet features, block explorers, and third-party approval services are different ways to inspect and manage allowances. Check that the option supports your network and wallet, lets you inspect the spender, and shows the transaction before you sign. Some services allow an address search without connecting a wallet; availability varies by service.

What revoking an approval can—and cannot—do
- It can stop future use of that allowance. The change applies to the permission you revoke, after the transaction is confirmed.
- It cannot undo a completed transfer. Revoking does not recover tokens already moved or reverse a transaction. It is also not a fix for a compromised recovery phrase or private key. See Revoke.cash’s explanation of token approvals.
- It does not withdraw deposited or staked tokens. Revoking an allowance does not itself remove tokens already deposited in a contract. However, adding tokens or using the contract again may require a new approval, as described in Revoke.cash’s FAQ.
- It requires a transaction signature and gas. Confirm the network and spender in the wallet prompt; do not sign a transaction you do not understand.
