Use a Kinde user-lifecycle webhook to start offboarding cleanup, not as proof that a Claude agent’s access has already been revoked. Your application must verify the event, identify the offboarded user’s agent credentials and permissions, then disable each one through the system that owns it. The right trigger depends on whether your process suspends or deletes the Kinde user.
What should happen when a Kinde user is offboarded?
Think of offboarding as a coordinated cleanup across separate systems. Kinde can signal a user lifecycle event, but that signal does not itself revoke credentials held by Anthropic, a cloud model provider, an MCP server, or another connected tool. Your application needs to connect the Kinde identity to the resources issued or granted on that person’s behalf, then request revocation from each resource owner.

Kinde documents a user.deleted event for a user deleted through its UI or API. That is a deletion trigger; it should not be treated as evidence that suspension emits the same event. Check Kinde’s current event-type schema for the exact event and payload used by your organization’s offboarding path.
| Offboarding action | What to verify | What your cleanup should do |
|---|---|---|
| Suspend a Kinde user | Confirm the event type supported for the suspension flow in the current Kinde schema. | Start cleanup only from the verified event your flow actually emits; do not assume deletion behavior applies. |
| Delete a Kinde user | Kinde documents user.deleted for deletion through its UI or API. |
Use that event to begin cleanup, then revoke or disable the user’s mapped credentials and grants. |
Where does the agent’s access live?
Before implementing a webhook handler, inventory the access paths your agent can use. Claude Code authentication can involve Anthropic API credentials or cloud-provider routes such as Bedrock and Vertex AI; connected MCP servers and other tools may have their own authorization. The credential’s owner—not Kinde—is the authority that can revoke it.

- POWERFUL SECURITY KEY: The Security Key C NFC is the essential physical passkey for protecting your digital life from phishing attacks. It ensures only you can access your accounts.
- WORKS WITH 1000+ ACCOUNTS: Compatible with Google, Microsoft, and Apple. A single Security Key C NFC secures 100 of your favorite accounts, including email, password managers, and more.
- FAST & CONVENIENT LOGIN: Plug in your Security Key C NFC via USB-C and tap it, or tap it against your phone (NFC) to authenticate. No batteries, no internet connection, and no extra fees required.
- TRUSTED PASSKEY TECHNOLOGY: Uses the latest passkey standards (FIDO2/WebAuthn & FIDO U2F) but does not support One-Time Passwords. For complex needs, check out the YubiKey 5 Series.
- BUILT TO LAST: Made from tough, waterproof, and crush-resistant materials. Manufactured in Sweden and programmed in the USA with the highest security standards.
- Kinde-managed access: Kinde documents revocation of its own user-level and organization-level API keys. Its guidance says a key is unusable when its verification status is inactive. This applies to Kinde-managed keys, not independently issued model or tool credentials.
- Model-provider access: Determine whether the agent uses a user-specific Anthropic credential or a cloud-provider identity, and use that provider’s supported revocation or disablement mechanism.
- Tool and application access: Revoke user-specific MCP authorizations, application grants, and stored sessions wherever those are managed.
- Shared credentials: An organization-wide service credential may not be individually revocable for one departing user. Avoid sharing credentials where per-user isolation is needed; otherwise, define a containment procedure that does not assume the shared key can be revoked without affecting other users.
How should you build the offboarding flow?
1. Map the Kinde identity to user-scoped resources
Persist the stable Kinde user ID and explicit mappings to provider credentials, application grants, tool authorizations, and sessions created for that user. Do not use an email address as the only key: it can change, while cleanup needs to find the same person’s records reliably.
2. Subscribe to the event that matches your policy
Decide whether offboarding means suspension, deletion, or both, then configure the corresponding supported Kinde event. The documented user.deleted event covers deletion through the UI or API. For suspension, inspect the current Kinde event schema rather than inferring an event name or payload.

- WORKS WITH 1000+ ACCOUNTS: Compatible with popular accounts like Google, Microsoft, and Apple. A single YubiKey 5C NFC secures 100+ of your favorite accounts, including email, password managers, and more
- FAST & CONVENIENT LOGIN: Plug in your YubiKey 5C NFC via USB and tap it, or tap it against your phone (NFC), to authenticate. No batteries, no internet connection, and no extra fees required
- MOST SECURE PASSKEY: Supports FIDO2/WebAuthn, FIDO U2F, Yubico OTP, OATH-TOTP/HOTP, Smart card (PIV), and OpenPGP. That means it’s versatile, working almost anywhere you need it
- PRIMARY & SPARE KEYS: Just like having a spare house key, we recommend buying two YubiKeys - one for daily use and one as a spare. That way you’ll never get locked out of your accounts
3. Verify the webhook and durably queue cleanup
Verify authenticity before acting. Kinde’s webhook guidance states: “Verify the webhook signature before processing to ensure the request is authentic.” After validation, persist a stable event or deduplication identifier and enqueue the cleanup job. Return a successful response promptly after the work is durably queued, rather than waiting for every downstream provider call to finish. A successful webhook response confirms receipt or queueing—not completion of every revocation.
4. Revoke each resource at its owner
Have the worker look up the user’s mappings and call the appropriate Kinde, model-provider, cloud-provider, application, or tool-provider revocation mechanism. Record the target and outcome for each action. Treat a missing mapping as an actionable result to investigate, not as proof that no access exists.

5. Make retries safe and outcomes visible
Webhook delivery and downstream calls can be repeated or fail independently. Make cleanup idempotent: processing the same event more than once should converge on disabled access without creating harmful side effects. Track attempts, results, and timestamps; retry transient failures and alert on terminal or prolonged failures. Kinde’s guidance recommends idempotent processing and retries, but the exact retry schedule and delivery behavior can depend on the webhook configuration. Set and document your own operational policy.
6. Decide whether re-registration must be blocked
Deletion does not necessarily prevent the person from returning. Kinde warns that when self-sign-up is enabled, a person may be able to create an account again with the same identifier after deletion. If your policy requires continued denial, maintain a blocklist or equivalent authorization check and apply it when accounts are created or access is evaluated.

How can you confirm that access was actually revoked?
Test the whole lifecycle in a non-production environment, including cases where the webhook or one provider call fails. Check the downstream system’s authorization state or attempt an access operation; do not count a 2xx webhook acknowledgement as evidence that the agent has lost access.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Exercise deletion and suspension separately, verifying the event each path emits.
- Send a duplicate event and confirm that cleanup remains safe and finishes in the same disabled state.
- Submit an invalidly signed request and confirm it cannot trigger revocation work.
- Simulate a queue outage, a provider error, and a partial cleanup; confirm failures remain visible and recover through retry or operator action.
- Verify access denial for each relevant model, cloud, MCP, application, and session path—not just the Kinde account.
- If re-registration is in scope, test that the blocklist or equivalent policy still denies access after a new account is created.
This design separates the lifecycle signal from the security outcome: Kinde identifies the user event, your application orchestrates cleanup, and each credential owner confirms its own access has been disabled.
